Falling Apart

chapter 13

Lara's POV

3 days ago i found out i was pregnant with Nathan's child. 2 days ago i found out Elena gave birth to a baby girl. Elena doesn't even know about Nate's affair. Nate doesn't know im pregnant. The only people who know are Sam and Jonah. Ive started to speak to Jonah. I told him yesterday that I was pregnant.

*Flashback to yesterday

I picked up my phone and dialed a number i have dialled in months. Within a few rings a familar voice could be heard.

"Little bird its good to finally hear from you" Jonah's voice filled my ears
"You too Jonah. I've missed you so much"
"Me too. How have you been?"

I told him everything that has happened since i last saw him witch was some time after Yamatai. I told him about Nathan and out expedition to Egypt.

"Wow that's sound great Lara" he said
"Yeah. I have something to tell you as well. A minor hiccup." I said nervously
"Go ahead little bird"

I took a deep breathe and told him about me being pregnant with Nate's child. He seemed shocked at first but was supporting nonetheless.

*back to the present

Since ive told Sam she's been very distanced from me, i wouldnt blame her. I did sleep with a married man who has a kid already.

Elena's POV

I've hardly had any sleep in the past 3 days since Natasha was born. Nate's been a big help though, i can't seem to separate those two. It makes me soo happy to see him cradle her. I never though I'd start a family. But here i am married to the most amazing man to ever live and seeing him with our daughter is the best feeling ever.
I looked over to the left of my hospital bed to find Nate fast asleep with Natasha in his arms. I smiled at the two of them. I decided to take the time to have a quick nap.

I awoke from my nap about 3 hours after. I noticed that Nate wasnt holding Natasha and that she was in her cradle the hospital provided. He had a cup of coffee.

"Afternoon sleepy" he smirked
"Afternoon" i said groggily

He kissed my forehead and told me he had some errands to do. I nodded and he left the room.

Nathan's POV

I decided to go see Lara, she hasnt spoken to me much since we've gotten back. I told her about Elena giving birth and she seemed okay but since then we havent had contact. I walked to her apartment and knocked on the door. I expect Lara to answer but instead a larger man answered.

"Uh is Lara here?"
"Lara some guy is here for you" he yelled

I heard Lara yell back that shes coming. Within a few seconds she walked out wearing a loose tank top and sweatpants, her hair was tied back in a messy pony tail.
When she saw me our eyes locked.

"Nate what are you doing here?" She asked
"To see if you're okay. I haven't seen you much"

She nodded and turn to the big guy.

"Jonah, can i have a moment alone with Nate please."
"Okay. Ill be in the next room with Sam" he relpied.

He walked away so there was just me and Lara.

"So uh..how you been" i asked trying to strike a conversation
"Fine i guess." She relpied

I nodded. Before i could say anything else Lara opened her mouth and spoke.

"Nate i have something important to tell you" she said nervously
"What is it"

She took a deep breath.

"Im pregnant"
