Lillith's eyes slowly fluttered open.
The first thing she saw was the cream ceiling and green wallpaper. "Where am I? Is anyone there? Evan?!" She bolted up and looked around the room. No one was there. Not even Evan. She pulled the blankets off and stood up, wobbling a bit. She saw a door and went towards it slowly, taking in her surroundings. The Green wallpaper had vine patterns on it which weren't very visible to tired eyes like Lillith's. There was a chair by the bed she was in meaning someone may of been here at one time.
She reached for the door handle and gently pulled it down and towards her. She exited the room and squinted her eyes. Outside the room was a brightly lit white corridor. She looked in both directions but couldn't tell where either went, both ways looked the same.
"H...hello!" She yelled poorly due to her dry throat.
"Hey." A male voice replied. She looked to her left and saw Leon round a corner. "Nice to see you're awake." He was wearing jeans and a navy blue t-shirt. He held a cup in one hand and had newspaper tucked under one of his arms. None of that really mattered to Lillith.
She was more interested in why he had bandages around his left eye.
"Wha...what happened to you? Are you..." She paused for a second and coughed, her throat sore.
"I'm fine. Here have this." He handed her the cup and she gratefully accepted it, taking a drink from it. The cool beverage soothed her sore throat and she looked at him.
"Where are we?" She asked as she leaned against a wall, trying to support herself.
"The medical center." He took her arm and draped it over his shoulders and wrapped an arm around her. "Come on."
She whispered a faint thank you as they walked down the hallway. The eventually arrived in a large room. There was a desk, a metal door, four chairs, two end tables and three clipboards.
"Evan is also here but he's in a pretty bad shape." He helped her to a chair and sat next to her.
"How long have I been out? What happened?" She asked only two questions yet she still wished to ask more.
"About a four weeks, you wouldn't wake. As for what happened, the answer is many things. We went on more missions. On the first Evan was clearly angry and he wouldn't calm down he actually ran from the team and we didn't see him again until a week ago... When he did this." He pointed to his bandages.
"Evan did that to you?" She asked in disbelief doubting that Evan would ever do such a thing. "W...why?" She murmured.
"Because he was angry, like I said. Partly at us, partly at Delia but mainly at you." Lillith tried speaking but no words came out. "He said you lied to him. I found him first so I tried taking him down and I did." Lillith thought he was about to boast again but; "Yet it cost me. I thought it would be an easy fight and I was so wrong, I was no where near good enough to fight him and come out unscathed."
"I'm sorry." Lillith whispered as she pulled him into a hug. Leon wrapped his arms around her and whispered to her that it wasn't her fault but she wouldn't listen.
"Look at you two." Evan spat as he rounded the corner. Evan was using crouches and his left leg was in a cast.
"Evan." Lillith jumped at his sudden appearance. She stood up and approached him.
"Don't come near me, you lying whore!" He yelled and she let back. Leon stood up and stood in front of her in a protective way.
"Don't yell at her, she hasn't done anything to you." He said calmly.
"She lied to me! She said she cared, that she would care for me forever! She can't do that when she can't even die, she made me worry. She'll outlive me." He shouted and Lillith moved from behind Leon.
"What makes you think I can't die, it was a mere theory that was suggested and it's not true. I heal quickly but get sent into a coma for an unknown amount of time! I said I'd care because that all I do, I care so stop getting angry over lies! You've severely injured Leon over nothing." Lillith raged as she stood right in front of him staring into his anger filled eyes.
"You're lying!" He retaliated.
"And you're blind if you think that." She didn't jump, she just stood there when he yelled at her because he didn't scare her.
"You..y..you have to be lying. I... I just attacked the team and I. . . No, I'm right. This is your fault." He said shaking his head as he tried to think straight.
"Stop trying to blame her, Evan, you attack us because you belive things easily." Leon pulled Lillith back so she was by his side and not directly in front of the pissed off inhuman. "Lillith didn't do anything wrong, like she said, you saw a simple stupid theory that she might not be able to die and took it to heart. Your not even a couple so stop acting like she cheated on you."
"They won't forgive me for this. I've messed up." Evan looked down, the anger seeming to leave him. "Lillith, how much do you care for me?"
"If I knew you any better I'd probably let you take me on a date and see how things went from there." Evan looked at her with sadness in his eyes.
"Then would you." He asked. "Will you go out for dinner with me tomorrow?"
"I...yes. I'd very much like that." She walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "After you apologise."
