Evan ran out of the jet holding Lillith in his arms once more. "Where are we going?!" He yelled at Leon.
"Calm down and follow me." Leon walked over to the door and opened it holding it open for Evan. The two headed up the stairs and into the warehouse. "It's in the warehouse next to this one but..." He trailed on.
"What?!" Evan asked, patience thinning.
"That warehouse is being used by a team that isn't one of ours. They used to be a S.H.I.E.L.D team so it'll be tricky to get in."
"I don't care! Just get us in." Evan tightened his grip on Lillith.
"Stop yelling and I will." Leon walked ahead and peaked through the door into next door warehouse. "They're inside." He whispered.
"Can't we just walk in and explain?" Evan whispered back.
"Of course not, you idiot." Leon stepped back and looked at the building. "I'll find a way to distract them and you'll enter via a loose roof panel. The code for the door is 3589."
Evan nodded as he made his way onto the roof. Leon put his mask on and inhaled a large amount of air trying to steady his breathing while he thought of what he'll do. He grabbed a knife from inside of his boot and walked inside.
"Who are you?!" A gruff voice yelled from behind. Leon looked around and saw the voice belonged to Kaine Parker also known as the Scarlet Spider. He also saw Charlie Darwin in the room. He knew Charlie because she was on the same team as Hatsumi and Hitomi. Charlie stared right back at him and knew something bad was happening.
"Hey, Kid, put the knife down." He turned to look next to him and saw Jayla Rogers, a S.H.I.E.L.D agent.
"Nah." He ran straight towards Charlie and slashed at her. She dodged and grabbed ahold of his arms and kept them behind his back.
"What's happening?" She whispered in his ear.
"A member of my team is severely injured, the closest medical center is under here." He whispered. She let go of his arms.
"Don't attack me again!" She yelled as she charged at him trying to slash at him with the claws she formed.
"Charlie!" The newest Scarlet Spider, a boy called Ricky, yelled as he shoot a web line and yanked away Leon's knife.
"I'll take this." Leon said as he grabbed Charlie's necklace and ran outside. The team followed and a fight ensued outside.
"Thank you, Leon." Evan whispered as he jumped into the warehouse. He opened the hidden door on the and climbed, closing it behind him. He walked down the stairs and reached the door's keypad. He entered the doors pin and burst into the room.
The lights flickered on and the machines inside buzzed as they activated. A man walked towards Evan and upon closer inspection he could see that it wasn't a man it was a robot. The robot took Lillith out of his arms and took her into a room, the door closed and locked behind him. Evan banged his fists on the door.
"Let me in!" He screamed but it had no effect. A hand was placed on his shoulder and grabbed it.
"Careful there." The hand belonged to Delia who gave him a calming smile. "Well done on your's and Leon's teamwork. She'll be looked after here." She brought him into a hug.
"But it was my fault and... and what if she needs me." He muttered out as he placed his chin on her shoulder. She was about the same height at him but she was just a tiny bit smaller, which was odd seeing as he was sixteen and she was twenty three.
"No, it wasn't your fault so stop trying to blame yourself. You two did great work today. We're going to head up now and as soon as she wakes I'll tell you, okay?" She looked at him and smiled. Her eyes had a kind look to them as she stared at him.
"Are you sure she'll be okay, I'm not leaving until I'm certain she'll be fine." Evan looked over at the door as he stepped away from the pale blue haired woman.
"It's a guarantee, we have some of the best equipment here." She placed her hand on his shoulder once more. "Let's hurry before they catch us down here." She places a clipboard down on a desk and headed out of the metal door. Evan didn't follow, instead he looked at the clipboard.
The paper had various pieces of information about Lillith on it. Evan's eyes landed on a certain paragraph.
'Lillith Rosewell is a fifteen year old girl from Florida. Last year an explosion went off and she was caught in the blast radius. It altered her genetics and now she is neither dead or alive, we suspect she's some sort of living ghost.'
Evan read a few more lines and regretted doing so. In a fit of anger and betrayal he stormed out.
