"I am responsible." Lizzie chanted to herself repetitively.
"Yeah but do you want to be?" Asked a young female voice Lizzie was starting to get use to.
"I have to be. Sooner or later." She looked down.
"You're still young. You have your mom, Delia, always looking out for you. Live your life Lizzie." Seraphina, The young child, walked closer to Elizabeth.
"I have to. I've got to learn." Lizzie broke down crying on the bathroom floor and all Seraphina could do was hug her.
Delia ran into the room and sat next to her daughter. "What is wrong sweetheart?" Delia took Lizzie's hands in hers.
"I'm not going to be able to do anything in life. I have no plan for the future, I'm failing in classes and people hate mutants." Lizzie tried to calm herself as she looked into her adoptive mother's eyes.
"Liz... none of that is important yet. You'll understand what you want to do later in life, failing in classes doesn't matter just study everything the class has learned before major tests and only idiots hate mutants." Delia shone a sweet smile that comforted the upset girl.
"I want to do something. Something like you do. Be a good guy with put the hassle of being seen or put in danger." Lizzie seemed to gain confidence from her mother's support.
"Well, I can arrange something...you won't be able to join my team but you could be part of a team for kids. I mean there are a bunch of teams that do that. The avengers hav- had the young avengers." Delia thought for a while.
"Also, Mom, I'm gay."
