The Lunch Room

A week later. Ever since that one detention, I could feel Lucifer's gaze on me. Grinning at me in the hall, opening doors. Then the snapping point came. I was standing in lunch line when I felt a light smack on my butt.

Whipping around, I saw Lucifer walk over to his table, high fiving Balthazar. A heat came over my neck and spread into my face. Abandoning my place in line, I stomped my way over to his table. Bringing my hands down on the table, he jumped.

"What was that for?" I exclaimed. He gave me a grin.

"What was what for?" He played innocent.

"You know very well what!" I nearly yelled, shocking them both.

"Why are you suddenly showing an interest in me?" Tears began welling in my eyes.
"What is this? Is this a sick joke? A prank?" Balthazar scribbled some thing down.
"An experiment?"

"What! No!" Lucifer scrambled for the right words but I had fled the cafeteria in tears.

Oh boy, things are happening aren't they!

LUCIFERS POV.

"What! No!" I scrambled for the right words to say but she just turned and ran out the door. I put my head in my hands and groaned.
"Damn. I screwed up bad didn't I?" Balthazar nodded, mouth full of my fries. Micheal sat down.
"On a scale of Judy to Kelly, how bad did you screw up?"
"A solid Shannon. " I said, grimacing.
"Ouch. " Michael winced as well. Cas came over quietly and began speaking.
"I saw her go into the library. I think she went into the back room. Want me to go talk to her?"

I considered it and nodded
"Take me with you." He shrugged and led me out into the hallway. After we made it to the library, Cas signaled for me to sit in a seat. He knocked gently on the door and started speaking softly in French. I couldn't understand him, but I could tell it was comforting. Pausing for a second, he seemed to be waiting for an answer.

When nothing was to be heard, he knocked on the door louder.
"Nari? Hello? NARI!" Cas pounded on the door with strength I didn't know he had. Abandoning my post I ran over and jiggled the doorknob.  Locked.

"Get the others." I whispered to Cas
"Emergency 5742." He paled slightly but nodded. I turned and pulled the fire alarm, then busted the lock off the door. Nari was collapsed on the floor, barely breathing. Shit. I thought, picking her up bridal style. I snuck out the back door, making a break for my car. The other 5 people were there, waiting anxiously for me.

"Hospital. Micheal, you drive. Uriel, call the hospital to warn them we're coming. Go."

I jumped in the backseat with Cas and Nari. He ran his fingers through her hair and murmured what I could only guess was comfort in French. Uriel was arguing with someone over the phone.

"Just get a room ready!" He yelled and aggressively hung up the phone. Micheal was running red lights while Gabriel was throwing candy at pedestrians. Balthazar was clutching a bottle of whiskey with eyes slammed closed. I was just sitting in the back, trying to stop Nari from flying across the car every time Micheal turned a corner. Which was scarily often. Finally we screeched into the emergency room. I gently put her down on the bed and was ushered out.

Oh my. That just happened didn't it. I may be a terrible person. Whoops.
