NARI POV
The next day I was discharged from the hospital. I walked into class late and the teacher didn't notice. Gabriel, however, did. He winked and passed me a lollipop. I took it and noticed a note attachedParty. Tonight 5:30-midnight.
I sighed and frowned. Adding a response, I formed it into a ball and hurled it at his head.
No.
He turned back to me with a sad puppy face but I ignored him. The dreaded paper ball landed on my desk again.
But whyyy? I ignored it. Another paper landed on my desk. Dont read it. My common sense urged. But my curiosity got the better of me
Luci will be there. I looked up to see Gabriel wiggling his brows. A blush rose in my cheeks and I nailed him in between the eyes with the paper.
We'll convince you yet. He grinned and texted someone, presumably his brothers.
As soon as class was over, I dashed out to avoid Gabriel only to run into Balthazar.
"Heyyy-huh?" I didnt let him finish his sentence, navigating the chaotic hallway muttering. "Nope, nope, nope."
"H-hey!" Balthazar yelled, "Get back here!"
I ducked lower, hiding my shortness among the giants I call classmates.
I ran into someone and my stuff went flying to the floor.
"Shit." I whispered, gathering my stuff. The kid I ran into handed me my folder and I realized who it was.
"Not another Novak!" I cried, leaving Uriel confused. I ran to the only safe space I knew. The library. I ran inside and took refuge in between the shelves. I sighed, guess I'm missing lunch again.
I went up to Miss. Tyler, the librarian.
"Dad not give you lunch money again?" she asked sympathetically. I shook my head.
"No, hiding from the Novaks." She cocked her head.
"Why?" I paused.
"I'm not quite sure.." She laughed and smiled.
"Well, these books aren't gonna shelve themselves." I grinned and picked up a stack of books. So that's how I spent my lunch period. I tended to the library while Miss. Tyler facetimed her boyfriend. He was always traveling so she barely saw him. I was just finishing up checking in books when someone came in.
"Umm, can I check this book out?"
"Uh-huh! Let me just- Micheal!?" I exclaimed. "H-how long have you been in here?" I asked, a little nervous. He grinned.
"I loved your renditions of 'Alexander Hamilton' and 'Do you hear the people sing?'" Micheal said as he handed me a book. I scanned his id then the book.
"Here you go." I handed him the book then when he turned around, I dropped behind the counter.
"Ah, there is something I was told to ask you.. Wait, where'd she go?"
Sooo.. Will she accept the invitation? Didja get the reference? Didja? How many of you went back and looked? Hmm. Well, whatja think?
Hugs and kisses,
