A week past after their conversation on the phone, and on Monday morning, Yuuri woke up oddly tired. It might be because he spent the entire night texting with Viktor, despite him protesting the entire time that he should get some sleep. And maybe he was right, he should've gotten some sleep, because today was the first day of finals, and he was going to have to fight himself for the entire morning so he doesn't fall asleep during the exams.
Yuuri got dressed, ate, grabbed his bag, and left the onsen after bidding his family goodbye. With a sigh, he began making his way to school. He was already used to this. It was his every day routine. But something about today felt different, and maybe it was because he was finally going to be on break soon, but some part of him told him it was definitely not because of that. However, Yuuri decided not to ponder on the thought any longer.
On his way there, he took out his phone and began going through his messages. He smiled at the things he and Viktor shared throughout the last month, and wondered 'how did he ever get so lucky?'. Honestly, the way they met was kind of weird, but Yuuri was somewhat grateful that Viktor had continued to pester him from then onwards. Now, they were practically together, in a very weird way, but Viktor said they were definitely dating, and Yuuri wasn't going to argue with him about that, he just accepted it.
He got to school earlier than he had anticipated, but it was better than being late, like all the times he's been before. Thanks to Viktor, that is. He gets too caught in their conversations sometimes. Whether it be texting, on the phone, or video chatting, he always manages to forget that time even exists. His parents were a bit surprised to get a note from the school telling them that their son has been late to his morning classes for the past month once. They questioned him about it to no end, but Yuuri just lied to them, telling them that he was getting caught up with morning practice and sometimes talking with Pichit. He felt bad for lying to them, but they can't know about Viktor just yet. Even if his older sister, Mari, was suspecting something. He still won't tell them until he's met the man in person.
Yuuri walked past the school gate and into the building. Not many students were there yet, but there were quite a bunch, already grouped up with their friends, talking about how much they were dreading the tests to come and how they didn't study crap for them; while others sat alone, doing some last minute reading and studying, or just texted on their phones. Yuuri decided to do the same: sit alone at his desk and text Viktor with the bit of time he had.
So, when he walked into his classroom, he immediately walked to his desk and sat down, placed his bag down and took out his phone from his pocket. Yuuri smiled slightly at the picture he had set for his lock screen; it was one of him and Pichit from an old summer. With a nostalgic sigh, he unlocked his phone and went onto Twitter. He went to his DMs and clicked on his and Viktor's conversation. He typed out his message: 'hey, vik, my exams are starting soon, do u have any words of wisdom that could get me through the next eight hours?' Almost immediately, the message was read and a reply came in.

yuurikatsuki: thanks! 😘
Yuuri sighed and put down his phone. What was it that was making Viktor so busy nowadays? It's been going on for the past week. Yes, they talk often, but not as often as usual. It makes Yuuri feel a bit insecure, but he knows to trust Viktor. And he does, he really does trust him.
Resting his arms over his desk and resting his chin atop them, he stared at the front of the classroom with sort of distant eyes. He didn't realize that the classroom was beginning to get crowded with the other students, aka his classmates. He didn't like it when the room got stuffy, but it was inevitable. With another sigh, he sat up and frowned slightly. He thought a little bit about Viktor's last words: 'I'll see you later'? Why did he say that? He lives all the way in America. He must've meant that he'll talk to him later, because that makes a lot more sense.
Before Yuuri knew it, the bell signaling the start of classes rung and he was praying to ace whatever hell trials his teachers have put in their finals.
