CHAPTER EIGHT

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello! You may not remember, but back in chapter 9 of Be My Blade, it was written that Zeo had his Spiral Fox. However, I have just recently changed it, and he still has his BYXIS in chapter 9.

-Faust's PoV-

The doctor wasn't lying. I could see it in...Julianne's...eyes, which now no longer seemed to have a warm side to them. They just felt cold...staring back at me. They seemed...fake.

How could I have been fooled so easily? Toby maybe could have been. But me? I am Faust. I can't be fooled.

I now sat in my room, losing hope. Julianne (3.0) had been taken away from me. She didn't eat. She was battery operated, according to the doctor. Purely electric: made of steel, plaster, everything fake...no heart.

I felt my entire being falter. Hope was something hard to find at this time...Celeste was missing, Toby was gone, and Julianne (3.0) had to leave after the small fiasco. What was even worse was that I'd tried to help my counterpart, Toby, but he only seemed to make it worse. I was trying to do something nice for once, to perhaps redeem myself from the bad reputation I apparently have in the world of Beyblade.

-Toby's PoV-

My mind wandered everywhere, causing my head to spin. I couldn't stop questioning the reasoning behind my giving up. Why would I surrender like that?

"Now we'll never get out." I answered. "It's obvious that the doctor only needed me for Celeste. But for some reason, he wouldn't let me go. I knew that Zeo and Masamune wouldn't come for me anymore though, because of what I did to them. In fact, I respect the fact that they wouldn't choose to come for me, but I just wanted my other friends to be saved.

I had to do something.

The doctor would certainly notice if I was trying to escape, for an alarm would sound on my door if I tried to manipulate it. Therefore I chose my only other option: completely obliterating the door altogether. Quickly and steadily I readied the mysterious bey given to me as a "gift" from the doctor.

As I launched it directly at the door, the bey flew gracefully across the room. With a loud "clank!" the bey slammed against the door.

The next thing I saw made me want to scream: the bey barely made a dent in the metal!

"If Celeste was here...I could wipe out this entire room."

I frowned, knowing the truth.

"But she's not here..."

I looked at the bey, which had returned to me in seconds of hitting the door. Catching the silly thing sure had put a dent in me; the spinning metal lightly pierced my skin, causing a stinging sensation to tingle my nerves.

I clutched the hunk of metal in my hand, looking at it, and then to the door. "I have to find a way of escape."

"It's the only out of this...and back to Celeste."

I turned around to check the digital clock for the time. It was late, almost 8:00 PM. Soon, the overnight guards and other scientists would be here. But I knew that somehow, somewhere, I could cheat their system. I didn't know how, though, there wasn't a robot to help me...there wasn't anything, really. Not even a decent Beyblade.

I'd have to use logic and understanding. That, or break the window and sound of the alarm. It would be tough picking the lock, but maybe...just maybe...

Then an idea sparked into my head.  Quickly, I ran to the phone which sat on a counter. I picked it up, dialing the number written down beside the phone. It was a number given to me by the scientist that closely monitored me. She gave it to me if there was an emergency.
