When I Came Back

Chapter 30

Victorias POV

"Hayden stay and rest for a bit please," I begged as I rubbed my eyes. It was just dawn and Hayden was already up to start the hunt again.

"Victoria I'm not letting anyone hurt my pack or family and I'm not resting until I find them" he replied sternly but ever so softy so that Alex and Lexi wouldn't wake up.

I sighed and looked at him, debating wether to tell him about the encounter that Ariana had had yesterday.

He noticed me in deep thought and called me out.

"What are you keeping from me?"

"Umm well yesterday uh when Ariana was making the bottles for the children she said she had a sense she was being watched and she's pretty sure she saw something outside..." my voice drifted off.

"And why hadn't you told me this earlier?"

"Hayden I'm tired you're always on the edge! I understand you want to protect us but you don't have to be so rude and expectant all the damn time! She wasn't even that sure, you have so much on your mind I just didn't want to stress you out any more! Okay sorry for keeping it from you!" I whisper/yelled as I watched his face turn from angered to confused then to knowing. He knew I was right, we couldn't even have a conversation anymore.

He spared me a glance and then walked out the door, what is his problem?

I laid my head back on the pillow knowing any time soon now either Alex or Lexi would want their bottles.

I tried mink linking with Hayden to try and apologize for my bitchy break down, but he never answered. I know he's just worried and stressed but I think he can loosen up a bit I mean come on, since I got out of the hospital with the kids we had 2 days of family time then he went off to 'Alpha' mode and has been like that since. It can get annoying as hell.

Sure enough Alex's cries broke me from my chains of thought and I got up to get his bottle.

"Shhhh Mommas here baby shh" I cooed softy as I picked up my baby boy from his crib and put the bottle near his mouth.

I glanced over at the clock and saw that it was just 7 am.

"Daddy's worried about our safety that's why he's grumpy" I explained to the brown haired, green eyed baby in my arms. He almost smiled before taking the bottle into his mouth.

He slightly chugged the warm milk down and I smiled at the sight, when the cries belonging to his sister came.

"Lexi you're going to startle the entire house with your cries" I giggled as I picked her up and put her on my other arm. Twins are a handful, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

"Tori! We have an appointment today with the baby doctor at 9:30 be ready!" Ariana's head popped through the door.

"Baby doctor?" I laughed.

"I forgot what he's called..." She sounded thoughtful.

"Alright," I nodded.

She closed the door and I turned to put the now sleeping Alex in his crib while I fed Lexi.

I stared at her while she took the time to breath while she ate unlike her brother.

'She's going to be such a daddy's girl' my wolf suddenly came into my head.

'Wow where were you when I needed you? And I'm sure she is' I replied.

'Right here the entire time,' wolf conscience drifted back into the corner of my mind, we'll she's not much of a conversation keeper is she, I thought to myself sarcastically.

By the time I was done 'daydreaming' Lexi was finished with her bottle and her eyes were almost shut.

I took the bottle and gave her her pacifier as I set her back in her crib.

Glancing at the clock again for what felt like the hundredth time this morning to check the time and seeing it was 7:45, I knew for sure that I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. I decided that I should just get ready and eat something.

I went into the bathroom connected to the bedroom and washed my face and brushed my hair and teeth. Before I left to find something to wear I plugged in my curler. Walking back into the room tiptoeing slightly so I wouldn't wake up the munchkins I opened the closet door to change. I decided on a simple strapless maxi dress with some wedges, slipping on my cloths for the day I walked back out and into the bathroom again to curl my hair.

After burning myself a few times, my hair was ready, I clipped a part back so it would be out of my face. I started on my makeup with the usual mascara, foundation, concealer, eyeliner, eyeshadow and some lip gloss.

I walked over to cribs to make sure that everything was okay, and then I walked out of the room and called one of the maids.

"Mary can you please watch Alex and Lexi while I get something to eat?" I practically begged, I was starving being a mom isn't easy.

She smiled and nodded I thanked her and almost ran down the stares to get myself some breakfast.

Walking past some pack members into the kitchen I went straight to get myself some cereal, when Ariana burst into the kitchen.

"Serve me some too oh my gosh I'm frigging hungry!"

"You're always hungry!" I smiled and poured milk and cereal into both bowls as Ari took a seat at the little island in the kitchen.

I went back and took a seat next to her and we both started munching on our cereal.

"Were gonna be late" Ariana spoke with her mouth full.

She motioned for me to get up and we both jogged up stairs ready to visit the doc.

"Meet you in the car!" I shouted across the hall after I got Lexi and Alex situated in their car seats . I didn't wait for Ari's response and I just walked down the stairs and out the door to the awaiting car. Hopping in the drivers side I turned on the range rover and patiently waited for Ariana.

"Finally!" I almost shouted when Ari sat down on the passengers side.

I drove out of the drive way and into the main street, heading towards the town.
