Chapter 26 : A Fairy Provoked A Tigress

“Okay! You two listen up.” Johnny Bepp points at Lucy and Natsu.

Johnny Bepp shook his head. “Whatever happens tomorrow, feel proud that you’vebeen a representative for your school. It only happens sometimes joining an event like this.”

Me and Natsu nodded at him. “Now let’s get practicing on your talent!”

“Aye!” We said back.

At the Park...

Natsu and Lucy walked into the park wearing casual clothes. Natsu was wearing a printed white t-shirt with his white scarf and wearing brown pants, carrying a bag on his back. While Lucy, braided her long hair (it almost reach her waist) was wearing a printed white t-shirt too, the same print like Natsu, and she was wearing blue shorts, carrying a shoulder bag.

The wind blows in their way and it was 5 : 30 in the afternoon and the sun is setting down, they found a bench and they sat on it.

Lucy played her feet and swung it back and forth. Lucy looked at Natsu and she was wondering that why he was wearing that white scarf? She only saw him once that he wore it - the day they first met, that she was staying at their house. I wonder why he stopped wearing it after we’ve met.

Wendy has been telling her that her brother stopped wearing his scarf ever since the day after he and Lucy met, and ever since she was wondering why.

I’m going to ask him... She thought.

“Hmmm... Natsu? Can I ask you something?” Lucy said.

Natsu turned to her. “What is it?”

“I was wondering why you wear that scarf, and why you only sometimes wear it.” She said.

Natsu scratched his cheek with his finger. “This scarf.” He touches his scarf. “Is a gift from my father, Igneel.”

I see... So that’s why. Lucy thought.

“He gave it to me the day before he left me. I have been wearing this ever since he left. It all happened in this park...” He looked at the skies.

“Hahaha! Dad let’s play airplane!” Little Natsu said.

“Sure son!” Igneel said and he carried Natsu to his neck. “Vrrroooommm...” Igneel run around the park and Natsu cheered.

After all the play, he let Natsu down on the ground and they sat.

“Natsu...” Igneel gets something from his paper bag that he bought earlier before going to the park. “Here is a scarf.” Igneel gave him a white scarf and Natsu took it.

Natsu put it around his neck and awed.

Igneel smiled. “Wear this scarf always. But when the time comes that you feel you don’t need to wear it, it means you’re mature enough and old enough to understand.”

Natsu blinked at his father and laughed. “Don’t be like that! I’ll wear it every day!” He grinned.

Igneel laughed at his son’s innocence and childlike behaviour. The time will come Natsu... You’ll be able to seek the truth...
