{469 words including this.}He sat in his shop, alone. He looked around the room and admired the objects around him. As he was looking, something caught his eye. It was the chipped cup from many years ago.
"Oh how long it's been." Gold thought to himself. How he had missed her. He grabbed his cane to stop him from falling on his bad leg and limped to the cup he treasured most.
He picked up the cup and rubbed his thumb along the small chip she had made. Who was this she you might ask? The one he thought so much about, was Belle.
Yes, Belle was her name. She was his maid long ago to save her kingdom back home. That was when they had fallen in love. I guess you could say they were beauty and the beast.
After the curse, however she had forgotten him. Or at least he thought so.
He lost track of his thoughts when he heard a ring at the shops door. Gold looked and saw a young woman standing inside the shop. She looked to be in maybe her thirties. She had long, beautiful, auburn, curly hair and the most memorizing blue eyes.
"M-Mr. Gold?" She asked walking in slowly. He couldn't believe it. It was her, his Belle. He grinned and turned to her.
"It's you." He said in a tone a little over a whisper. "It's really you." He walked up to her and put his hand on her cheek.
"You're real..." he said aloud.
"D-do I know you?" She asked quite confused. This man had certainly come off a little strange for their "first" meeting.
He sighed, holding back the tears that sting his eyes.
"No, I'm afraid not."
He lowered his hand from her cheek and turned away to his desk. He sat in his chair and put his hands on the table in front of him.
"Why are you here?" He asked looking down at his hands.
"Mayor Mills told me to come here. She never gave me a reason why though."
He scowled quietly to himself. "That damned Regina only let her out because of Snow and Charming's daughter."
"Is something wrong?" She asked seeing his annoyed look. He dodged the question and looked up at her shining blue eyes.
"How long were you down there?" He asked.
"To be honest," she started. "I don't really remember."
That only made him sigh. "Of course," he mumbled to himself. "The curse makes everyone forget."
He smiled and stood up with his cane for support. "Come with me," he said. "Let me show you through town and get to know you a little bit."
They walked out the shops door and strolled through town. After all, Storybrooke had to be pretty new to Belle.
