Chapter 41- nightmares

Shae's pov.

I didn't expect that. Yes, I always wondered where his mother was but I never questioned it just in case they had fought or something like that. He looked so vulnerable, so upset. Like he has disappointed his mother and he just doesn't want to care anymore. There's more to Tyler than being born a vampire and having your mum taken from you. Tyler's obviously been through a lot of pain which he has obviously turned off his emotions before.

Sighing I look at him sleeping form. He doesn't look like he's at peace, he looks like he's in pain when he is sleeping- his eyebrows are scrunched together and he's clutching the sheets, silent whispers coming out every now and then. His hair has fallen onto his face so I gently run my fingers through it pulling it out of his face, I rest my hand on his cheek and his eyebrows unfurrow and a content smile appears on his lips; the whimpering having stopped. Furrowing my own eyebrows I move my hand away, his eyebrows scrunch together and a frown settles on his face and he whimpers again. Weird.

With another big sigh I lay down next to him and wrap my arm around his waist and tangle my legs with his and I place my head on his chest. I briefly look up to see a peaceful look now settled on his face and I shake my head in confusion.
                             Tyler's pov.
"Please stop! Stop hurting him!" Mum shouts at my father. He doesn't listen, he's in a blind rage but when she shouts one more time to tell him to stop he spins around and pins her to the wall.

"You made that mistake!" He points his bruised hand from beating the crap out of me to me. Whimpering in pain I stay laid out on the grass, the taste of copper from my mouth bleeding makes me cough.

"Henry don't call him that! For 9 years you've been calling him that ever since you found out he was a vampire when he was five, but he hasn't killed anyone or hurt anyone so how is he a monster!? He's my son!" She cries pounding at his chest. He doesn't look amused.

No. No. No. He's going to hurt her again! I try to sit up but I whimper, "m-mum." I stutter shaking my head.

"He has hurt someone! He broke a kids arm!" He roars.

"HE WAS DEFENDING ME!" She screams at him. My eyes widen and so do his in surprise, she doesn't normally scream and yell at him. His eyes turn cold and emotionless and he kicks her to the ground.

"How dare you defy me!" Just as his foot is about to kick at her rib everything disappears.

Looking around in confusion I see Shae. My Shae. She's giggling and calling my name, "Tyler!" She grins and I smirk running after her. She laughs and runs away from me. She yelps as she trips on something and goes tumbling to the ground. I'm panic I use my vampire speed to inspect her. I hear her laughter and the panic fades slightly.
