"This is so going on the Batcomputer. "
My eyes shot open.
Next to me was Artemis' sleeping form, peaceful as ever. But above me....
Was my best friend."Robin?" I said sleepily.
I could see the grin widen on his face.
"Morning Wally." He leaned on the back of the couch currently holding Artemis and I. "How'd you sleep?"
I frowned at the bird boy.
"I slept fine Robin."
"I know you did." He faced his phone towards me. "See." He showed.
The photo showed me with my arms around Artemis, my head resting on top of hers as she buried herself into me. We both showed small smiles on our faces.
I immediately jumped forward to grab at the phone. I missed of course, Robin was fully expecting the assault."OWWW!" A female groaned.
I quickly looked off the side of the couch onto the floor. As I went to get the phone, I may have accidentally shoved Artemis off the couch in the process. The side of her head collided with the coffee table before landing on the floor.
She immediately (and tiredly) glared up at me."What the hell Kid Idiot!" She growled.
"Artemis! Babe! I'm so sorry!"
I got up to try and help her up but she shoved me away.
"Don't call me babe Baywatch! You know I hate it!" She ordered, getting up herself.
"But. But I called you it last night and you weren't bothered." I said.
"Last night? What are you talking about?" She questioned.
"Y'know, with the sandwich. How I made the best one ever and you did something stupid that was actually amazing!"
She frowned at me.
"Wallace West don't you ever bring me into one of your creepy food dreams ever again."
I stood there. Utterly dumbfounded. And then my best bud said something that made the situation a million times worse.
"Oh Walls, don't tell me you were cuddling up to her while sleep walking." Robin laughed.
I frowned at him. Artemis frowned at me. Her eyes then widened and she looked down at the couch.
"You cuddled up to me?"
She then looked down at her own body and realised she wore nothing but a shirt and underwear. She showed a face of horror.
"You creep!" She punched me. Right in the eye. I fell back onto the couch. My eye immediately started to ache. I heard Artemis storm out of the room. Mumbling something like 'pervert' and 'creep'.
I got up off the couch. Robin's hand landed on my shoulder.
"Its okay man. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between dreams and reality as well.... Although I'm pretty sure sandwich girl dreams aren't the real ones."
I frowned at him and he just smirked at me.
"It wasn't a dream."
"Sure it wasn't."
"It wasn't!"
"Wally, c'mon man. I'll buy you a milkshake. Get you an ice pack for the eye. You can tell me all about your dream."
"It wasn't a dream!" I exclaimed before speeding off.
I headed straight towards Artemis's room and knocked furiously.
"Artemis!" I knocked! "Please, open up!"
The door immediately opened and I was pulled inside.
"Wally!" Artemis glared at me.
"Artemis please. I know it wasn't a dream. It couldn't have been a dream becauseIhavesomanyofthosetypesofdreamsthatIwouldknowifitwasfakeornotandIknowitwasn'tfakebecauselastnightwasrealanditwasamazingandIthinkIlove..."
"Sit down Wally." She ordered, pushing me into a nearby chair. She then opened her mini-fridge and... Wait a minute! Artemis has a mini-fridge.... Why don't I have a mini-fridge.... I wonder if she'll let me borrow it. And by borrow I mean keep forever.
I shook the thought away as I felt something cold touch my bruised eye. Artemis was sitting in front of me holding an icepack to my eye. She looked at me."I'm sorry about your eye Baywatch... I may have gone a bit too far."
"To... Too far?" I stuttered.
"With the act." She said.
"Act?"
"Listen Wally, your right, last night wasn't a dream. That really was an amazing sandwich and yes I did kiss you."
"I KNEW IT!" I yelled happily.
"Keep it down loud mouth!" Artemis hissed. "Shut up and listen to me. Before I kissed you I said I was going to do something stupid. And I did do something stupid."
"No, it wasn't stupid. It was–"
"Let me speak kid-mouth." She growled. "You need to pretend that last night never happened."
My happiness sank.... Deep.
"I don't want you, or anyone else to think there is a thing between us. Because there isn't. And there never will be."
"What? Artemis no."
"Promise me that you won't tell anyone. Or do tell them but keep up the act that it was a dream."
"Artemis please. C'mon babe. We can work this out."
She was getting frustrated now.
"Theres nothing between us Wally! We hate each other remember. Last night was a mistake. A stupid mistake." She exclaimed. "Now please get out. Take the ice-pack with you."
I didn't move. I didn't want to. So she just threw me out...... She's stronger than she looks.
Defeated, I walked back towards the kitchen where Robin sat. He smiled as soon as he saw me."Maybe it was a dream." I sighed to him.
Robin took my arm and dragged me away.
"Milkshake time."
I wrote another chapter... Not entirely sure why. Considering the first one was published like 10 months ago. But people were reading it so I guess I just decided to turn it into a story.... Why not. Theres been plenty of One Shots that have become stories... I can't give an example... But I'm sire there have been.... Am I rambling.... I'm rambling.
THIS IS A STORY NOW.
Okay bye.
