Chapter 3

It has been a week since the three kittens moved in, and it appears they are getting more mature, as their namesakes were. Dani was a great hunter, and may be skilled with wind or water magic. Kitsuya took a great liking into healing magic, like Izaliah.

Oh! I forgot to mention this! Silly me! Most animals have secret magical powers that humans cannot see. We even have crazy coat colors, like my green. But, they saw me as a brown tabby, those pesky humans.

Blue, Napoli, and I were becoming good friends. But, as we talked more and more, I began to think about those 'Warriors' books that Heather kept. Wouldn't we need to train to help new kittens fight? Yes, we would teach all the new kittens skills they would need. Also, I think I'm beginning to- nevermind. I've been spending more time with Blue lately.

Ah, look at me, getting myself sidetracked, like always! The updates on the kittens! Kuzu can fight, and has water magic. Anitsuya has become quite the gossiper, and Dani has been stocking up the pile of food. She and Kuzu also spend the most time together. I think that's all I have to say.

I padded into the clearing after taking a short walk to calm my nerves about my 'plans' tonight. Soon, I ran into Naploli.

"Um, Forest, " Napoli meows. "would you like to go hunting by the, uh, Glow Stone with me tonight?" He asked sheepishly

I paused, trying to word this the best I could. "Um... Blue and I are going to go to Kodi River and hunt. Maybe another time?"

Napoli nodded. "Oh. Okay. I'll see you, uh, later," he meowed and ran off.

We finally made it to Kodi River, and I began to feel shy all of a sudden. Could it be now, or would it be never?

"Forest, I need to tell you something. It's really important," Blue told me, brushing his blue tail against my green and brown fur. I gasped, feeling my body heat up.

"What is it Blue?" I asked cautiously, afraid that if I said the wrong thing, then all my chances at falling in love would be gone forever in th blink of one of my brown eyes.

"I love you. Will you be my mate, my lovely evergreen?" Blue asks me, proudly and boldy.

"Yes! Oh my gosh, a million times yes!" I yelp, almost stumbling into the river. He licks my cheek. Then, I remembered something Napoli said to me earlier.

"Oh no! Napoli is going to be crushed!" I cried. Anitsuya jumps out of the bushes when I yelp. The growing kitten runs up to me, appologizing.

"I told Napoli you liked Blue. He wanted to see if it was true," she gasped, wheezing. "He doesn't like you! He likes.... he likes..." she trailed off.

"He likes my sister?" Blue asked, and Anitsuya nods, looking at him with eyes begging him not to tell them what she said.

"Wow, our first couple! I wonder when they'll have kits?" Anitsuya sighes in relief when Blue nods to tell her he won't. "Just in case someone was listening."

"Anitsuya!" The two of us winked at her, playing along.
