It had been seven months since I started training with Korz. I had improved majorly, but I still had lots of improving to do. I was practicing long range archery, when Korz yelled to come to where he was. I ran over, and inquired what was going on. "See over there? That's a group of about fifty bandits, headed towards the small seemingly unprotected town. We are that protection," he said. I went to the stables and got my horse, lightning. He was a ranger horse, which meant that he could run at fast speeds for a very long time, and wasn't a particularly large horse, like all ranger horses. I rode him to where Korz was waiting and we rode to the village. The bandits were on foot, so we beat them there easily. Korz motioned for me to stay at the village while he rode up to talk with the bandits. He rode back and looked at me gravely, "The bandit leader won't call it off, which means that we will half to defend as best we can," he told me. They were I range now, but still a ways off. We took out our bows and started shooting. Korz was faster and more accurate, by a lot, but I was no slouch either. He took down one man per arrow, while I took down one man per 1-3 arrows. By the time they were at mid range there were about 37 of them left, and they had quickened their pace. Korz still killed one man per arrow and I was at about on man for every 1-2 arrows. They kept getting closer, and we kept shooting. We had each taken four backup quivers with us, equaling 60 arrows for each of us, easily enough to take them all out. Once they were at relatively close range there were only about 10-15 of them, and we were shooting faster than ever, and I could kill with every arrow. There were 8 left when they were too close to shoot, so we put our bows away and took out daggers. One charged me and went to slash overhead with his sword. I dodged out of the way and stabbed him in the side of the ribs. He dropped his sword and fell to the ground, dying. Another one slashed at my side but I rolled out of the way and stabbed him in the back of the leg. He howled in pain and I finished him off. There were two more, and we each went for one. The one I went to fight lunged at me and tried to run me through. I dodged to the side and stabbed him in the shoulder. He cried out in pain and dropped his sword, clutching his shoulder. I finished him off and saw that Korz had already finished the other one off. We traveled back in town and had the people start a bonfire. We then spent the rest of the day carrying the corpses back and throwing them into the fire. When we were finally done it was almost nightfall and we traveled back to the cabin. I took lightning to the stables and then rubbed him down with water. Then I dried him off and brushed his fur, just as Korz had taught me to whenever I ride him. Then I made sure he had plenty of food and water, then went inside. We ate dinner, then went to sleep, and I prepared for tomorrow's training.

This chapter is longer than the last one, but its still short. I apogize, the sequence with the bandits was shorter than I intended, but oh well. Clbaez out.
