"Get up, you've slept in long enough, Clbaez," Korz says, waking me up. I get out if bed and get dressed. I put on my cloak, my rings, and picked up all my weapons, and head in for breakfast. I walk in and Korz is sitting down eating heavily buttered toast. I make some of my own, though with less butter, and sit down to eat. I put my weapons down and are my three pieces of toast, all the while talking with Korz. We finish breakfast and I put on my weapons. I head outside and start training. After I had trained in a few things I started feeling hungry. I looked up at the sun, blocking it out with my hand and determined it was a couple minutes until lunchtime. I shot the rest of my arrows, collected them and went inside to eat. After we are lunch, which consisted of rabbit, I went back outside to continue training. I turned to walk to the long range targets and I see a kid laying bloody on the ground! I run over to him and get a closer look at his wounds. He had a large blunt wound in his head, which was bleeding. I checked his pulse and thank goodness he was alive. His only injury was his head wound, so I picked him up and carried him inside. "Korz, bring some bandages and medicine!" I say as I walk in the door. I laid him on a bed and Korz walked in with bandages and medicine. "Where did you find him?" He asked. "Out by the long range targets," I replied. "How long was he there?" He asked. "I don't know, I found him when I walked out there, but I hadn't seen him before lunch," I said. Korz applied some me decline on his head wound and bandaged it up. "If he doesn't wake up by tomorrow, he's probably in a coma," Korz told me grimly. "Who would've done this to him?" I asked rhetorically. Korz shook his head. "You can go train, there's nothing else we can do," he said. I went back outside and continued to train. I trained until what I was sure was 9:30, and went inside for dinner. When I went in I heard movement in the room we had put him in. I rushed in and motioned for Korz to come. He's waking up, I mouthed, and we went into the room. He opened his, eyes, and sat up. He saw us and his eyes widened in terror. "Don't hurt me !" He yelled and scrambled away from us. "We won't hurt you," Korz soothed, "we want to help you." He calmed down a little, but he stayed tense. "Do you want to come eat?" I asked him, and he nodded nervously. We let him make his own food, and we got dinner too. Afterwards we went to bed, and the boy went to bed in the guest room where we had laid him. I got in bed and layed there for a while before falling asleep.

I walked outside to train, and saw the boy sitting on top of the short range target. I walked over with my bow and nocked an arrow. I aimed, shot and missed the target. I shot a few more, the boy sitting on top the entire time. Some went to the left of the target, some to the right, some just barely missing the boy. When got to the last arrow, I nocked and aimed at the boy. What am I doing! I thought, not being able to control myself. I loosed the arrow, and it hit him straight in the chest. He fell forward off the target, impaling the arrow through his back. Suddenly his body burst into flames, and started melting. I stared in horror, and suddenly his body solidified again, then ripped in half. A demon rose from his body, and stood on the ground. It had blood red skin and leathery wings folded up on it's back, and it was 12 feet tall. It turned to me, it's eyes made of flames, and smiled.

I woke up sweating, and looked around. It was still dark outside, but I didn't dare go back to sleep, so I wrote my dream down, wanting to know what it meant. Suddenly my finger started burning, and I realized it was my ring! I threw it off onto the ground. All seven gems had turned black and it seemed to be emanating darkness. I started hearing whispering, and it grew louder and louder until it was hurting my ears. Then it stopped. Suddenly I heard a name in a deep raspy voice. "Baukshkol, Baukshkol...." It repeated over and over again like an echo, getting slightly quieter each time. Eventually it stopped entirely and the ring went back to normal. I put it on the table in my room and left it there. I decided I would rather have a nightmare than be in magical danger, so I got back in bed. Just as I did, the sun started coming up. I got back out of bed and went in for breakfast. I heard them getting up, and I continued to eat. Korz came in, followed later by the boy. "So what's your name?" I asked him. "Gideon," he said. "I'm 12." "I'm Clbaez," I told him. "I'm Korz," Korz said. "Are you guys rangers?" He asked. "Yes, we are," Korz answered. He sat there in awe, in drastic contrast to when he had first seen us. I went outside to go train, and went to the first area. I started shooting, and after a while I heard a sound. I looked over and saw Gideon walking towards Korz. I went back to shooting, and after a while went to the next training sector. I heard another noise and saw Gideon destroying an ant pile to my left. I went back to shooting until it was time for long range medium speed shooting. I was shooting for a while, when I heard a sound in the woods behind the targets. I stopped and listened, but didn't hear anything else. I pulled back an arrow, when suddenly my ring started burning again! I let go of the arrow, unintentionally letting it fly. I threw the ring onto the ground and looked where the arrow had gone. I looked just as Gideon came out from behind the target, playing an imaginary game, and he got hit in the chest with the arrow. "No!" I yelled, and ran over to him. He collapsed to his knees, then fell onto his back. I was almost to him when his body burst into flames. I froze in terror, remembering my nightmare the previous night. "No," I gasped, as his chest ripped open and a demon emerged, giant compared to his small size. It was just like in my nightmare, red skin, leathery wings folded behind his back, eyes made of fire. "Thanks for freeing me," he said in the deep raspy voice I had heard come from my ring. "I couldn't have done it without you and your ring," he continued, smiling evilly. "You made it burn, didn't you!" I yelled in rage and terror. "Yes, I was the one who did that, I led you to finding it, to make sure you had it when you found Gideon, who I inhabited." Baukshkol said. Suddenly he shrank back into Gideon, who started spazzing out on the ground. His wounds healed and he stopped moving. His skin turned slightly red and he got up. His eyes were like fire, and he gave me the same evil smile the demon had. Suddenly he disappeared in a whirlwind of red smoke. "No, Gideon! No...."
