Dana arrived for her shift shortly after her classes ended. It was near impossible for her to get to the bar before 4pm. All the others started their shifts at 3pm, so Dana was always scheduled to close the bar and ready things for the next day. Tony was very understanding as Dana was his best bartender and server.

"Hey D." greeted Tony. "Gonna be a busy one tonight. Ladies night begins at 8:00 pm sharp."

Dana cringed inside, gave Tony a big smile and spoke through her teeth, "Can't wait. Those girls tip for shit and the guys will be out like a pack of wolves buying drinks to get laid instead of tipping their wait staff. Should be a lucrative night Ton."

Dana spoke fluent sarcasm.  She was always good for a quick come-back  or quick -witted comment.

"Awe...come on D...you know those girls can't hold a candle to you. Tips will be good as always. Besides, not only are you smokin, you gots the brains to go with it." Tony remarked as he walked with his arm around Dana's shoulder to her station behind the bar.

"I don't think that anyone tonight will be interested in someone's GPA.  It will be about the tight dresses with the tits and ass on display.  Besides, I wasn't exactly comparing myself to them Tony.  But, you're always good at kissing ass when you need something. Dana remarked.

"Uhh...well, after 11:00 I'm gonna need you to come out onto the floor and serve. Damn Casey called in sick again."

Dana rolled her eyes, "Awesome!"

She sighed and gave Tony a punch in the arm. "Anything for you though big guy."

"I can always count on you kid.'' Tony said as he walked toward the kitchen.

Dana was one of those girls you mistook as sweet and innocent until you got to know her. She used that to her advantage when working at the bar. She had an athletic build, a terrific smile, deep blue eyes and a booty that attracted the attention of many patrons at the bar. However, under that innocent look was a tiger. Dana was loyal, stubborn, and tough. Despite her perhaps slight appearance, this feisty girl could kick some serious ass. Her father owned a Tae Kwon Do school in which Dana grew up being a part of since she was knee high to a toad. Her personality reflected her appearance and father's teachings. She was outgoing, kind, dedicated, honest, smart, playful and full of sarcasm.

It was midnight and the dancefloor was packed and the alcohol was pouring. Dana used her agility to weave in and out of the crowded bar. She was thankful that Tony gave her tables that were closest to the bar. As Dana turned from the bar with a full tray of drinks in hand she was met face on with a woman wearing a very expensive looking red dress. To avoid a complete disaster, she took the brunt of the impact and only managed to spill a little comparatively on the woman.

"Oh, My God! I'm so sorry ma'am." Dana exclaimed as she retrieved a bar cloth from the bar and began to offer it to the woman.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" snapped the woman shaking the wetness off her dress.

"I umm...listen ma'am I will pay for the cleaning and get your next few drinks on the house." Dana said apologetically.

The woman scoffed and said, "Well...I think you should buy me a new fucking dress. I just bought this today."

"Who bought that dress today?" A voice came from behind the woman. "Relax Michelle. You're lucky the whole tray didn't end up all over you thanks to this gal's quick thinking." The sultry voice finished.

The voice stepped from behind the woman and extended a hand. "I'm Faith."

Dana wiped off her wet hand and took the stunning woman's hand. "Hey, I'm Dana. I'm really sorry about your friend's dress. I'll take care of the cleaning and like I told your friend..."

"There's no need hon. Michelle here is a bit dramatic. Besides she's the one who wasn't watching where she was going." Faith reassured. She then took out a pen and grabbed a napkin. She wrote on the napkin and handed it to Dana. "Give me a call. I could use someone like you. I own a bar a few blocks down University Avenue and I'm looking for a good manager."

"Manager? I umm...well...I've never managed before."

"Oh, yes you have hon." Faith winked. "You manage every night you work here, you just don't know you do."

Dana put the napkin in her pocket. She thanked Faith, got Michelle another drink and loaded up her tray once again. Throughout the evening, she would see Michelle and Faith dancing or sitting at a table. When not paying attention to Michelle, Faith would appear to be evaluating her surroundings.

After 2 am, Dana locked the door and began to clean the bar. She had the routine down pat. Depending on who she was working with that night, she could clock out and be home by 3 am.

Tony approached her as she was putting on her jacket to leave.

"Well, was it as bad as you thought it would be?'

She reached into her pocket to retrieve her tips. With the tips came the napkin that Faith had given her. "It may have turned out more lucrative than I thought. Goodnight Ton." she answered and walked out the back door.

Dana quietly unlocked the door to her apartment. She was used to "stealth" mode when she arrived home from work. She hung up her jacket and made her way in the dark to her room. She kicked off her shoes as she removed her shirt that smelled of vodka and beer. She shimmied out of her jeans, grabbed her towel and toiletry bin and headed to the bathroom. Dana shut the door as she turned on the light so she wouldn't wake her roommate.

She always took a shower after work. Despite how seasoned of a bartender and waitress she was, something would spill on her. Whether it was the girl that was rushing to the restroom, the guy trying to "cop a feel" while taking his order or the drunk that couldn't quite get a good grasp on his drink, something always ended up on Dana. Tonight, it was the full tray of drinks compliments of Michelle.

Dana pulled back the shower curtain and reached for the shower knobs. She gasped and jumped when she saw her roommate sitting on the shower floor shivering.

"Jesus Sam! Oh honey...how long have you been there?"

Dana took a towel and wrapped it around Sam's shoulders. She helped her up and out of the shower. She escorted her to Samantha's room and sat her gently down on her bed. As she dressed her in boxers and a t-shirt she attempted to pull Sam from her catatonic like state.

"Sam... what happened?"

Dana lifted Sam's legs onto the bed and gently covered her up. She then took out her phone and began to text Kevin...
