As the two went back to closing up the club, they heard a rumble outside that could only be described as that of a "bike". A motorcycle to be exact. The noise was unmistakable. It wasn't just a motorcycle. It was a "Harley." Only they could make the particular rumble that was coming from the side of the building. Dana looked at the clock. It was exactly 2:30 am. She smiled as she remembered Sam promising to even be early to pick her up for breakfast so she would be sure to meet Faith. Jeez, I love that girl! she smiled through her thought. She pulled out her cell and text.
'Hey, alarm already set in front. Come round back...ok?'
'Ok my peach'
Dana chuckled and jogged toward the back of the club.
"She's here...and she brought the bike!"
"Ok Gidget! Who's here?" Faith teased.
"Sam ... My roommate. We're going for an early breakfast. You wanna come?" Dana chirped.
Out of curiosity, Faith followed Dana to the back entrance. Dana opened the door. Samantha was standing with her back to the door removing her helmet. As she did, she shook her head lightly to release the hair that was within the helmet. Her hair spilled down over her shoulders and stopped at her shoulder blades. Her dark hair reflecting the light made her natural waves more noticeable.
"Hey you..." Dana greeted.
Samantha turned around and flipped her hair out of her face. She smiled at Dana, pulled up the sleeve to her leather jacket and looked at her invisible watch on her wrist with a look that said, 'I told you I'd be on time.'
"I know smartass. You're right on time." Dana snarked. "Come in ... I'll introduce you to Faith."
She next stepped aside to let Samantha in the club. "This is Faith. Faith ... this is my roommate, Sam."
Dana looked at Faith and could see that she had been watching Samantha the whole time. Faith looked in a trance and appeared mesmerized by Samantha.
"Faith!" She waved her hand nearly four inches from Faith's eyes. "Uh um! Faith?! ... this is my roommate, Samantha."
Faith snapped her head to Dana, then back to Sam. "Oh ... umm ... Hi... nice to meet you ... ... Samantha is it?"
"Yes ... Samantha, but everyone calls me Sam. Nice to meet you too Faith." Sam poked her hands into her pockets and rocked back on her feet. "Ummm ... Dana here has told me a lot about you and how much she likes working here." Sam stammered.
Dana patted Sam on the shoulder amused at the scene in front of her.
"Hey, Sam ... You can hang your jacket back here." She gestured to the coat hooks next to the lockers.
"Would you like to see the place?" Dana asked.
Sam unzipped her black leather jacket and turned to hang it on a hook, "I'd love to."
Dana looked at Faith once again and noticed her mouth had opened slightly. Faith appeared just as interested in the backside of Sam as she seemed with the front. Dana shook her head smiling and turned to Sam.
"Ready?"
"Yep ... show me the way." Sam said turning to follow Dana.
Dana walked about 15 ft. in front of Sam. As she passed Faith, she leaned to her and remarked, "You ... umm... have a little something there on your shirt."
Looking down at her shirt, Faith answered, "What?"
"Umm ... yeah ... I think it might be ... drool." Dana whispered as she placed her finger under Faith's chin to close her mouth. She gave Faith a big cheesy grin.
Faith's face became flushed and she could feel the heat in her cheeks. She pushed Dana in the shoulder, "Oh shut up!"
"HmmHmm." Dana smiled back at her boss.
Sam walked by Faith and said, "Nice to meet you again Faith."
"Ummm ... you too ... Sam."
Once down the hall and into the club, Dana said, "Well, this is it. A lot nicer than Eddies huh?"
"Wow ... nice club. I remember coming for their Halloween party, but why haven't we come here more regularly? Oh ... And ... by the way ... Oh my God! You told me that she was in her late twenties and pretty, but you didn't tell me she was gorgeous." Sam stated pointing back down the hallway.
"And you said you're not Bi ... Uh Hu?" Dana teased.
"Well, I think that woman could turn Mother Theresa Bi ... if not gay. Now I know why you talk about her lot ... Damn! It's just too bad for you she has a girlfriend huh?" Sam joked back.
"Me? I'm not the one who called her gorgeous. Besides, I'm not into her like that. Don't get me wrong. She is definitely beautiful. But, we're friends. She feels more like the sister I never had ... ya know?" Dana explained. "And ... Besides having a girlfriend, I think her interests may be somewhere else if she were available."
"Oh?" Sam Inquired.
"Holy shit Sam! Are you really that blind? The woman couldn't take her eyes off YOU for pete sake my dear 'foxy lady'. My God Sam! If you only knew how beautiful you are. I mean, everywhere we go people are looking at you. Men, women, dirty old men and even dirty old ladies. You just don't see it. You have the 'wow factor' and that is not even after getting to know you on the inside too. You're kind, smart, funny, honest, loyal, dependable, and resilient. Jesus! You're amazing woman!" Dana said ending her sermon.
Sam put her arm around Dana and smiled, "You sure you chose the right major? Marketing and Sales suits you very well my peach."
"Jeez, you can be so adorably irritating. Now let me finish and we'll go eat OK?" Dana said as she slipped from under Sam's arm.
Sam sat at the bar and pulled out her phone to play a game while waiting. She breathed in and let out a long stressful sigh. She thought about what Dana said to her regarding the inside being amazing as well.
Sam breathed another breath and thought:
If you only knew how amazingly BROKEN I am on the inside...
