"Stop that, its not right!"
Her voice was soft yet rang in the air, the walls of the damp cave seeming to cave in much more.
"Shut it, woman! He's mine!" Arthur's voice was deep and blood curdling.
He had Lewis's collar tight in his hand, keeping lewis dangling over the ledge like a penny would be held by a young child wanting to make a wish that would last a week. He laughed, half of his body a sickly green color. His grip immediately tightened as his voice went dead silent. He stared at Lewis for a moment, Vivi covering her mouth and Lewis struggling not to choke in the process.
"You... You see what fear is now, don't you?" He held a dim face. "Fear consumes us all... Hatred is worst though, isn't it? Man what a great husband you would have been."
He loosened his grip, making lewis shriek before Arthur's hand tightened again, a sly laugh escaping his mouth. Lewis started to laugh, his mind and heart racing, no longer allowing him to think logically.
"Kill me. Then what? Take Vivi and Mystery? Is that it?" He laughed, his hands now griping onto the grossly green arm. "I always knew something was wrong with you..."
"Shut up..." Arthur felt his feelings starting to go out of control.
"Those kids were right to make fun of you... You're a coward, that's all you are!" Lewis growled.
"Lewis, stop that!" Vivi yelled as she felt something brush her side.
"Shut up!" He let go of Lewis, anger thriving through his veins.
Mystery looked much more god like then what he did before, his body built for war. Mystery leaped forward, teeth chomping and tearing through the very infected arm. Arthur let out a cry and dropped to the ground, his arm pulsating on the ground, detached from him completely. He screamed, realising what had just happened. He looked up just in time to see Mystery leap off the ledge and into Lewis, taking most of the impact. But even then it didn't stop Lewis from being severely hurt.
Arthur was screaming, the heart monitor beeping rapidly as Arthur's body seemed to convulse on the bed. Mystery barked as the nurses and doctors rushed in to calm him and sedate him. Soon after, he was asleep once again. Lewis watched in horror till the very end. Once the doctors left, he had to force himself to sleep, as they ruled out that he had developed night terrors. Mystery curled up next to Arthur, soothing him sightly.
The morning wasn't any better. Arthur seemed to get worst. His blood would fluctuate and his heart meter would malfunction each hour. He wouldn't eat and his eyes looked as if he saw death its self. Arthur sighed as he started to be fitted for an are replacement but he knew he would end up making his own. He dared not even take a glance at Lewis, as if afraid he would change again. When Vivi visited as usual, he would leave to go do blood testing to make sure he wasn't infected with anything.
As Vivi was leaving, Arthur made his way past her, causing her to gasp softly at his appearance. Lewis couldn't help but stare as Arthur painfully entered his own bed, Mystery hopping on to the soft bed.
"How bad this time..." Mystery asked low enough for only Arthur to hear.
"More shots... Painkillers... They said I won't be leaving any time soon... But my arm is healing exceptionally well." He gave a soft yet vague answer, only enough for Mystery to hear and understand.
"Do you think he will ever realise...?"
"Its taking time but he's coming back to reality..." Mystery huffed, sighing. "He does feel sorry though... He watches you closely to make sure you're alright even..."
Arthur shuffled and bursted into tears, wrapping his one arm around Mystery and sobbing into his fur. He missed saying good morning each day, having a wonderful morning conversation and not knowing what Vivi would be doing this time. But now, it was always the same old thing. The same room. The same silence.
"Thank you..."
