A Reverse World

The Contest

The day just seemed to continue to fly by and I had no control over it. After lunch I wanted to talk to Ryan more, but he seemed to have disappeared. Elizabeth doesn't have any other classes with me through out the day like Ryan does. He had to leave after lunch according to Luke. By the time the last bell ringed I was ready to do the day all over again. 

I walked down to the music room where I take my music lessons from Mrs. James. she has been teaching me since freshmen year and currently we are preparing for the big contest that happens every year. This year she believes I am ready to compete, except it is with very talented kids. She says I fit in that category because ever since I was five i pick up any instrument and am able to play it. 

"Violet! There you are come in I have special news." As soon as I walk in I see Luke.  I stop in my tracks and look between the two slightly confused. Luke waves at me with a shy smile. Honestly, I have never held a conversation with Luke so being in the same room with only one other person preventing that made me nervous. "So in the contest there is a section that is open for duets. Luke has been my other student for quite sometime and I figured maybe you two could figure something out and enter twice in the contest" 

"Oh,of course! I mean as long as your up for it I suppose we could work this out." I smile look directly at look. I am more terrified now. I mean spending hours with the boyfriend of the guy I believe to have feelings with.. I am gonna have to learn to control my tongue a bit more. 

"Great! Well I will leave you guys to it!" Mrs.James left the room. Luke sat down at the piano and pulled out a labeled binder and motioned me to come sit next to him. 

"She kind of told me about this early and I was looking around and I thought maybe we could do the song Ma mère l'Oye " 

"That sounds lovely. Let's get right into it then." I smile sitting down next to him relaxing. If I let the music take over like I always do I can do this.
