"Did I ever told you, you have an ego the size of Texas ?" I asked him as I rested my head on his chest.

"Yea, like a thousand times."

"Good." Then Jason started to play with my hair, its really nice when people just play with your hair, you really just want to fall asleep. When I'm about to fall asleep. 

'Mate !' My wolf inside me shouted. Just then the door burst open revealing River Matthews. Oh why him !

Chapter Two - Rejected, eh who cares ! 

Riley's P.O.V. 

"Mac...mac..." I was numb and most definitely felt dumb, how can I not notice it ? 

'Why him ?' I asked my wolf. 'and why now why not from like this morning maybe ?' 

'Ey, don't blame me.' 

'Then who ?' I asked rather snapping.

'Idek, the mate-maker maybe ?' she laughed on her own. I groaned and remembered that Jason was talking to me. "Yeah, what sup ?" I asked as if nothing happened. 

"Are you alright ? You seem to spaced out and by the look on your face, dumb-founded." I wanted to hit him in the head and told him I am not dumb-founded, but he was right, I'm dumb-founded. 

"I'm okay, no need to worr---," I stopped because of River being in front of me, anger was read in his face. "M-m-may I-I-I h-h-help y-y-you ?" I stuttered. Well of course I stutter is not everyday, River would talk to me. Not that I wanted to. 

"Don't play stupid with me, Kenzie." Unfortunately that's what River called me since the day my parents put me in the base. He suddenly grabbed me by my wrist and damn it hurts. He dragged me out of the classroom. When we were out, I immediately pulled my wrist out of his hand. I rubbed the spot where he held me. "Now let make this quick." He stared at me for awhile. "Why aren't you talking again ?" I just shrugged. "What ? Did a cat got your tongue ?" I ignored it. "Whatever, lets just make this quick." He paused for a minute, taking a really deep breathe and he let it go. "I, River Matthews, rejected you as my mate." I sighed in relief. 

River's P.O.V. (Surprise !) 

"Now lets make this quick." I stared at me for awhile, she is just so beautiful. "Why aren't you talking again ?" I asked her, the truth is, I like Riley Mackenzie, such a surprise there huh ? I'm the bad boy and shit. I have my own reasons for my attitude, anyway as I was saying, I like Riley ever since I laid my eyes on her. "What ? Did a cat got your tongue ?" She ignored it. The reasons why I join my friends on abusing her because I wanted her attention, but I guess that's just a wrong sign to show to her, cause I ended up hurting her. I was really glad when my wolf said 'mate' and I smelled Riley scene, hell I was overjoyed. "Whatever, lets just make this quick." I paused for a minute, taking a really deep breathe and I let it go, this is the only sentence I'm going to regret. "I, River Matthews, rejected you as my mate." She sighed in relief. I didn't mean to reject her, I just, is just complicated. 

Wow, I'm such a pussy. 

'Yes you are.' my wolf suddenly kicked in. 

'eh?' And silence. I quickly ignored them and tried to scan Riley's face. No sign of her wanting to cry her heart out. But I was kinda mad, when she sighed in relief. 

"Good, cause I don't want you to be my mate." Ouch that hurts. 

"What ?!?" I yelled at her. She was quite surprised by my sudden change of mood.

"Why do you care ? I thought you rejected me, shouldn't you be happy that I don't want you either ?" No, I am not happy, I want you Riley ! But I'm too chicken to say it out loud. 

"Yea, I guess well.." I trailed. She took a step back and smiled showing her white teeth. 

"Well, yea I guess, everything can go back to being normal, eh ? You abuse me, I feel the pain, you ignore me, I ignore you too. So yea, nice talking to you and long last with Summer Evans !" She told me and walked inside the room again with a joyful face. Right, maybe one of the reasons why I rejected her is because my now girlfriend, Summer Evans. I'm only using her thats it, nothing special. my wolf growled at my decision. 

'You are so stupid' My wolf roared to me. 

'ya ya blame me' I said before entering the room again and taking short glances at Riley. I wish you know Ry, I wish you know.

Riley's P.O.V.

As soon as I stepped inside the room again, all eyes are on me, I flashed them a smile and took a seat on my previous seat, beside Jason. "What was that about ?" Jason asked. I shrugged. 

"Its nothing, is just River and I realized we are both the mate to each other's wolf and shit, and well he rejected me and I--," I rambled but the was cut off by Jason putting a hand over my mouth. 

"And you are okay that you got rejected ?" I shrugged

"Um duum.." I gave him a plain look. "I don't even want him to be my mate anyway." Jason chuckled and shook his head. 

"Sooner or later, you'll be falling head over heels in love with each other." Jason said.

"I highly doubt that, Jase." I said before taking a nap in the desk.

"Mac," my body moved a little. "Maac." It moved again a bit more stronger. "MAC!" 

EARTH QUAKE ! 

"Jesus Christ Mac wake up !" I opened my eyes. To see Jason looked annoyed. 

"There wasn't an earthquake right ?" I asked panicking.

"What ? No !" Jason face-palmed himself and took a really deep breathe and let it go. "Its time to go home, detention is finish."

"Oh right..." I trailed and glanced to the back to see if River was still there, nope. I sighed. It was really weird on how he rejected me and I told him about me not wanting him to be mate either and he was like pissed off. There is definitely something wrong with him.

"MAC !" I shook my thoughts away and looked to Jason.

"Yea ?"

"You spaced out." I smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry anyway lets go !"

When I stepped inside the base front door. They immediately abused me but saw there no sign of River. 

When they were done, I dragged myself to my room and cried the pain out. I miss my parents, but its just one more month till they are back and I'm free from this hell hole. Once I was done crying because of the pain, I fixed myself and went downstair for dinner, alone. In there was only one pizza left. I sighed and just ate what I have. 

What a day eh ? I had so much fun. (note the freaking sarcasm).
