Chapter 14: Then Tell me Now

There are going to be multiple POVs in this chapter, but they will all be fairly short. Sorry...

Ryan's *POV*

"Mom, I'm home!" I called out, as I entered my house.

"I'm in here Ryan!" Her voice was faint coming from the kitchen.

Right as I take one step into the kitchen, I'm attacked with a tight hug.

"I missed you Ryan."

"I missed you too. Staying in a different place for 3 weeks is a bit much."

She walks over to the sink, and continues what she was doing before.

"So how was Italy?" She asks, not looking at me.

"It was good. Not very much to do, unless you want to do romantic things by yourself."

"Paul moved there, didn't he?"

"Yeah, that was part of the reason why I went. Just to hang out, you know?"

"Hopefully you didn't get into any trouble." She dries her hands and turns to me.

"No, we didn't get into trouble. We just talked."

"That seems unlike the two of you. Normally you'd be skating, running from the police."

"No, not this time."

"Well I'm glad you had a nice time," she walked out of the kitchen, not saying another word.

She's keeping something from me. She acting very strange.

I head upstairs and just lay down.

I need time to unwind. Italy really took it out of me.

Short new POV!!!

Gretchen's *POV*

It's very difficult trying to keep the secret from Ryan.

He has all the right to know, but I have to let Evans work at her own pace.

She's still trying to remember who she is. She doesn't need more pressure trying to remember Ryan.

I hope she tells him soon, I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this from Ryan.

Evans *POV*

I pace back and forth in my room. Not able to sit still

I had my mom text Jess asking her to come over to help with cleaning my room out.

For all she knows, I'm still dead.

I wanted to kind of surprise her. After all she's my best friend and nothing can change that.

The door bell rings, making me jump in anticipation.

I quickly hide in the closet, the hiding spot my mom and I picked earlier in the day.

It's the first thing they are going to "clean" out.

Hopefully my mom doesn't give anything away.

"How have you been?" My mom's voice comes through the  door.

"I've been alright. This whole thing still affects me," Jess's voice is low and quite sad.

"It's okay dear. Things like this take awhile to heal," the door opens, making me smile.

"Okay, so right now we're going to clean out her closet. If you want some of her clothes, you can have them. They were all gonna go to Goodwill anyways."

"Okay, I'll see if I want anything during this time," through the crack of the door, I can see Jess.

She pulls the door open and her eyes go wide.

"Is this real? Please tell me you're not messing with me," tears roll down her cheeks  as she looks back and forth between my mom and I.

"This is real Jess. I'm here and I'm never leaving again," I pull her into a hug, tears of my own falling down.

"There was so much I wanted to tell you before your accident."

"Then tell me now."
----------------------------------------------

P-Rod's *POV*

I don't know what I'm going to do.

Without Evans, there is no point in me being here in Italy.

I might just move back to California. At least I know people there.

I just hope she isn't lost somewhere or is in trouble.

She's smart enough to figure things out.

I just wish I was smart.
