Step Brother (Luke Hemmings)

chapter 3

Ivy's POV:

We've got a week till our parents get back and ever since my nightmare the other night Luke's been sleeping in my room with me. I have to admit I like it but I still can't get over the fact that he's gonna be my step brother soon! It's so wrong to have these feelings and thoughts about him but I can't help it.

"Hey ivy!" Michael greets as he enters the house, "hey Mikey!" I smile, me and Mikey have been getting closer over the past week and I really like him. He hugs me tight then pulls away, "Where's luke?" He asks, "oh, he ran to the store, we're out of pizza bites and all things related to pizza!" I laugh, "oh no! Not all things related to pizza!" He exclaims dramatically, we both laugh and he follows me up to my room.

"Have you had any more nightmares lately?" He asks sitting on my bed, "nah! I'm all good!" I smile sitting across from him. "Has anyone ever told you that you have beautiful eyes!" He smiles tucking my hair behind my ear, "Once, has anyone ever told you that you have amazing hair!" I smile, "quite a few times but it sounds better coming from you" he laughs quietly.

We sit there looking into each others eyes until he starts to lean in, I find myself doing the same and our lips connect, I move closer so that I'm straddling his hips and he rests his hands on my waist. Our lips mold together perfectly and I never want this moment to end.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Luke exclaims walking in, I roll off Michaels lap startled, "Get out!" Luke barks at Michael, "Luke! Please, it's not his fault... It just happened.." I exclaim, "Shut up ivy!" He exclaims, "Go Clifford! Get out, leave!" Luke hisses, Michael gives me a sorry glance before rushing off.

"You're such an asshole! I like him ans he obviously likes me! What's your problem!" I exclaim, "You can't go around making out with my friends! Especially if you're sleeping in the same bed as me at night!" He exclaims, "I AM NOT YOUR LITTLE PET THAT YOU CAN CONTROL!" I yell at him, he stumbles back in surprise, "just get out luke!" I exclaim, "Ivy, please.." Luke pleads, "Get the fuck out, you can sleep in your own bed from now on! I don't want you in here anymore and I'll kiss Michael if I want too!" I exclaim, "Ivy! Don't do thi-" "Get out hemmings!" I bark, he bites his lip and glances at me one more time before leaving.

I text mikey telling him I'm sorry for luke and that I really like him and I'd like to go out with him some time, he liked that and scheduled for us to go out Friday night, he's picking me up at seven! I can't beleive luke freaked like that, I'm not with him, he doesn't control me!

I quietly slip out of my room as it's 3:25am and head down to the kitchen, I flick the light on and almost scream when I see Luke sitting at the island. "Holy fuck luke! Warn a girl would yah!" I exclaim, he looks over at me but doesn't say anything. I roll my eyes and head over to the fridge, I grab a carton of chocolate milk and then close the fridge. I turn around only to jump when Luke's standing right there.

"fuck luke, stop doing that!" I exclaim, again he doesn't say anything but catching me by surprise he places his lips on mine, I don't kiss back at first because I'm in shock but after a couple seconds I start to kiss back, I don't know why, this is so wrong but I have a feeling I've been wanting this to happen.

He pulls away and just stares into my eyes, "Why'd you do that?" I whisper, "To show you who you belong to princess.." He whispers back, "I don't belong to you! That proved nothing, to tell you the truth that was wrong, you're my step brother!" I exclaim, "Then why'd you kiss back ivy?" He whispers, I bite my lip because he's right, if it was so wrong why did I allow it to happen!?

"You're as attracted to me as I am to you ivy, I couldn't stop thinking about you after the mall and then you end up being my step sister! I mean what are the damn chances!" He exclaims, "This... Us, can't happen luke! Our parents are getting married in three months!" I exclaim, "then we can do as much as we want in the next three months!" He exclaims, "And then what Luke!? Pretend like nothing happened, go on with our lives, what if one of us falls in love with the other!? It's too risky!" I exclaim, "We promise each other not to get attached!" He exclaims, "I can't promise that luke!" I exclaim quietly, "So you're saying you're gonna get attached? You're gonna fall in love with me?" He asks quietly, "It's fucking possible luke! I don't do flings,  I don't just hook-up!" I exclaim, "Then be my girlfriend!" He exclaims, "No luke! You're my step brother!" I exclaim, "Then what do you suppose we do?" He asks, I sigh knowing my answer is gonna hurt him. "We don't do anything, I'm going out with Michael and you can find a girlfriend because none of this ever meant anything to me and I realize that now!" I explain expressionless.

"You don't mean that ivy, I know you don't!" He exclaims quietly, "yes I do! You're my step brother, did you really expect me to have feelings for you? Maybe there was something but now it's hidden by the fact that we're gonna be sibilings soon! I really like Michael not you! There's no more discussion, that's that Luke!"

He looks so hurt, it hurts me to hurt him so bad but it had to be done! I can't fall for my step brother, it would crush our parents and ruin their marriage because we were selfish and I can't do that! I really like Michael and I want to start a relationship with him, it'll help me get over luke plus I trult do like mikey, he's an amazing guy!
