Step Brother (Luke Hemmings)

chapter 4

Ivys POV:

Two months and counting till the wedding! Mum and Andrew have been running around doing wedding stuff a lot lately so I've been alone in the house with luke off and on, it's not a big deal since he hasn't talked to me since I lied to him, everytime we catch eye contact he immediately looks away and walks off.

Today is a shitty day, it's rainy and gloomy and there's thunder and lightning too! Of course I had the bright idea to go to caseys house. I'm standing outside in the freezing rain, thunder and lightning waiting for her to pick me up. I hear a door open and close, I turn around to see luke.

"Come inside ivy! You're soaked!" He calls out, "I'm fine Luke, it's just water!" I yell back, "You're gonna get sick!" He exclaims, I roll my eyes and stand there, "Come on ivy!" Luke yells, I ignore him and shift my stance.

"It's thunder and lightning, please come inside!" He whispers coming behind me, "No! I'm fine, she's almost here!" I protest, he steps in front of me, raindrops running down his face, his blue eyes sad, skin pale and his clothes drenched.

"I should've fought!" He tells me, "What are you talking about?" I ask confused, "When you lied to me about not having feelings for me, I should've fought for you!" He explains, "I.. I didn't lie, where'd you get that idea from!?" I exclaim, lying again. "I know you have feeling for me Ivy! I know you do and I can prove it!" He exclaims, "That's funny, cause last time I checked I'm not into you!" I lie.

"Stop fighting me on this Ivy! Please just admit it, I know its true!" He exclaims, "What do you want me to say luke? What do you want me to do? Our parents are getting married, I can't.. I shouldn't feel this way! We shouldn't feel this way!" I exclaim, "We tell them, we tell them the truth and maybe they'll call off the wedding.. " he explains, "No way! I am not that selfish!" I exclaim.

We stand there not talking and listening to the sound of rain and thunder, the flash of lightning lighting up the grey sky. "I can't just live my life knowing I have these feelings for you, knowing I want you but can't have you!" He exclaims, "I don't know what to tell you Luke, this is how it is! My mum deserves to be happy, she's happy with Andrew!" I exclaim, "But don't we deserve to be happy too!? What about our happiness? What about what we want!?" He exclaims.

"Oh my god Luke! They met first, they fell in love first, got engaged before we met! They're getting married and unless they break it off themselves then nothing will ever happen between us!" I explain. He stands there just looking at me, I shake my head and start to walk off. I feel a hand wrap around my wrist and he pulls me in, pressing our lips together. I kiss back, our cold lips molding together perfectly and then a car horn beeps and we jump apart.

Casey's car is at the end of our driveway, she's biting her lip trying not to smile. I rush to the car, not even looking at luke. After all I had said about nothing happening I kiss him, and in the middle of our driveway.

"Okay girl, spill! You two still have that spark that I saw the day at the mall and even if it is wrong because he's your step brother I wish you guys were together cause hot damn" she says smiling, "Doesn't matter, we can't be together and nothing else can happen!" I exclaim, "Oh girl, you can tell yourself that but I've got a feeling there's more where that came from!" She smiles and drives off.

I think about what Casey said about me and luke, she's probably right.. I tried to stay away from him but it didn't quite work but only because of him, only because he had to go and kiss me and start talking about feelings. How am I supposed to live in that house with him when he's gonna be my brother. How can I live in that house when I like my step brother?

Me and casey talked about luke and me for hours. Thinking about scenarios and nothing we came up with could make this right except one.. I need to move out of that house when I turn eighteen, I'll get a job to save up some money for a place... But I can't live in that house with my step brother... My hot step brother that... That I am so attracted to.

I stayed at Casey's for two days before going home.. I couldn't face luke after I gave into him, I still don't know if I can. I enter the house and kick off my shoes, I set my bag down on the floor and make my way to the kitchen. The house is pretty quiet...almost as if no ones home.

I climb the stairs up to my room and decide to take a shower. I grab a sports bra and some spandex shorts and a pair of underwear and head to the bathroom. I open the door but didn't expect to find a guy with a towel around his waist.

"Oh my god... Um.. Who are you!" I exclaim, "I.. I'm Luke's friend..." He explains.. He looks kinda Asian.. He's got black hair with blonde streaked bangs, brown eyes and a few cool tattoos. "Uhuh and you're half naked because?" I ask confused, "oh uh.. Luke said I could take a shower cause his sister wasn't home.. You're his sister huh?" He says embarrassed, "yeah.. I'm ivy!" I explain, "I'm calum.." He smiles.

"Well uh calum.. I'd appreciate if you'd hurry up so I could take a shower" I smile and close the bathroom door. I walk out of my room an barge into lukes only to see three other guys shirtless. "Uh... Luke.. Mind explaining why there's three other guys in the house?" I ask him, "oh they're my friends and you already know mikey!" He explains.. "Yes but I didn't know calum and I don't know this guy!" I explain pointing at a guy with curly brown hair.

"You met cal?" He asks awkwardly.. "Yeah, I gotta say... Nice six pack!" I say sarcastically, "Sorry ivy.." He apologizes, "Don't worry about it! It's only fair I know everyones name then! So what's yours?" I ask the dude with curly hair. "Oh um, I'm Ashton!" He smiles, "alright, now is that all your friend or are there more taking a shower in our parents bathroom?" I ask sarcastically, "this is all of them!" Luke says with a laugh.

Calum comes out of the bathroom and smiles at me timidly, "okay, I am taking a shower.. Anyone that steps foot in that bathroom in the next hour deals with me okay!?" I exclaim, "uh yeah!" Luke says quietly. I smile and turn around marching into the bathroom, I make sure to lock both doors from the inside and then undress and hop In the shower.

After a relaxing hour long shower I collapse onto my bed with a sigh, I look at the clock to see it's midnight already. I can still hear the boys in Luke's room, they're talking or more like... Singing and someones playing guitar. They actually don't sound too bad. I get up an go downstairs to the kitchen to grab a snack, I find ice cream in the freezer and grab a bowl of that.

I turn around and almost drop my bowl when I fin mikey behind me. "Shit mikey! You scared me!" I exclaim, "sorry ivy.. I just wanted to see how you're doing" he smiles shyly, "I'm good mikey.. Don't worry about me" I smile, "but I do worry.. I know I haven't known you long but I feel like I'm being pulled toward you...I can't wait for our date" he explains.

"Me either!" I smile, "isn't luke going to get mad though? He's already giving me the cold shoulder..." He explains, "yeah but I don't care what he thinks" I explain, he nods and bites his lip. "You're so beautiful" He smiles. , I smile and reply, "Thanks!".

He smiles an leans in, he kisses my cheek and then pulls away, "night ivy!" He whispers and walks back upstairs.

I finish my ice-cream and put the bowl in the sink before heading up to bed, I'm kinda excited for the date.. Okay I'm really excited for the date! Hopefully mikey can help me get over luke!
