Florence smiled down at her phone, laughing at all the silly messages she had shared with new found friends from over the sea. Although she had only known all four of them for two months, she felt connected and close to them, like she had known them for years. The girl with the ringlets locked her phone before shoving it into the back pocket of her jeans, waiting for Brooke to exit the coffee shop.

Brooke had two medium sized, take away coffee cups in her hands and a purse under her left arm. "Here's your latte." She spoke with a soft voice, carefully handing it to Florence, before taking her purse out and putting it back in her bag. "So, you need to tell me about this 'group chat' thing with Ze."

Florence just chuckled slightly, shaking her head. "I've already told you their names, where their from and shown you what they look like." She sipped her coffee carefully. "What else do you want to know?" Brooke made a noise like she was thinking, pouting slightly with an eyebrow raised.

"What is their favourite meme?" Florence almost spat out her coffee while Brooke looked on in confusion. "What? It's a perfectly acceptable question!"

"You and your goddamn memes," Florence shook her head, "I enjoy them as much as the next person, but you're utterly obsessed."

"Still kinda sad that the study of memes isn't a uni course." Brooke shrugged as the two sat down at a park bench.

"Brooke, you graduated last year." Her friend retaliated sarcastically as Florence just rolled her eyes and continued to sip the rest of her latte. "Okay, I'll ask them when I get back home." Florence stood up, realising it was getting late and that she had early classes the next morning.

"You better text me their answers." Brooke warned her. Although they shared an flat, Brooke was often out at her partners place, leaving Florence to her own devices which was both comforting and isolating, depending on how she was feeling. Recently, it had become a lot less lonely yet, the feeling lingered. She sighed one more time before waving goodbye and heading off home.

The walk home was quiet, the only noise was the soft music which played though the brunettes headphones, loud enough to hear it but low enough to be able to hear traffic. It was cold, being beginning of January, nights still started earlier than they did in the summer. She liked it. The tranquility of the little street she lived in was different to the hustle of the city centre and university's campus.

Entering the dark hallway, she closed the door and waked up the stairs to her shared flat, trying not to make any loud noises which would cause her neighbours to complain. Again. The time before wasn't her fault, it was Brooke's, who had had a small party which ended up a lot bigger and louder than expected. Florence of course got the blame, being the only one there half to most of the time. She wasn't mad about it anymore but it was still annoying.

With the door shut, locked and the chain across, she took off her large black coat and hung it up on the rack. Shivering slightly as she had forgotten that the landlord still needed to fix the heating in the main part of the household. Shuffling into her room, she threw her satchel onto her bed, getting changed into her pyjamas; checkered black and white bottoms with a lilac, long sleeved jumper. She threw her hair up messily as much as she could with the mop she had, loved and refused to get rid of.

Florence pulled out her laptop, pulling up YouTube seeing a documentary on Athens still in the screen. She wanted to finish it before she got a bunch of messages from the Skype group and the call she would be expecting in a couple of hours.

Two hour long videos later, Florence raised her head up from her desk she had fallen asleep on as her Skype pinged on and on with new messages. Times like these, the brunette wished she had put herself as busy or away, just so noises wouldn't disturb her. But, it was the Derps, some of the only people she could actually deal with.
