Chapter 10 - Payback Failed
Pov. Kendra
"Kendra. Kendra wake up. KENDRA WAKE UP. Lazy. You are very, very lazy." I hear Lucas say with a small laugh.
"I wanna sleep. Just let me sleep, then I am happy for the rest of my life." I mumble.
Nothing is more true. I'm serieusly married with my bed.
He sighs.
"Well then, I didn't want to let it come this far, but you obviously don't give me a choice." There is something in his voice that I heard once before and I really don't like it. The last time he threw a piece of cake right in my face. I stood a half hour in the bathroom getting everything off my face. What is he planning to do this time? I dunno like this.
I turn and I try to look at him carefully, but that was the BIGGEST mistake of my whole life. I warn you, NEVER EVER do that. He just threw water and now the water comes right in my face. 😑 Damn it. Thanks Lucas, really. Not...
"Rise and shine!" He yells while he runs away. He loves that sentence since we watched 'The Maze Runner". It was a really good movie, I can tell you that for sure. I fell in love with Newt. He stole my heart.😍😍 He's beautiful, lovely, kind, generou- whoa, wait what? I wasn't supposed to think that! Well... I guess every girl has a fangirl moment in her life. 😅
But back to Lucas and his.. joke. Oh I promise you, that bastard is going to pay for his little joke!
Payback time!😆
I get out my bed and decide to take a shower. Warming up again. I get in the shower and wash my hair. When I get out of the shower I grab the sweater and the sweatpants that lay on the washing table. Warm and comfy. There's nothing better in the world than that. No wait- my bed. But my bed is warm and comfy too, so that doesn't count.😀
Stuck in my thoughts about my bed being warm and comfy I walk into the living room and I see that Lucas is laying on the the ground, bleeding everywhere. I stand still, like I am frozen.
"LUCAS!"
I see he tries to move his head towards me, but I see that it hurts too much.
"Kendra... it's a trap. Don't walk further."
As stupid as I am I walk to him. I kneel next to Lucas and I hold his face in my hands.
"What is going on Lucas? Tell me." I ask him, almost whispering.
"I.. am sorry.. that.. I.. could.. not.. protect.... you." He says with tears in his eyes.
Right after he said that I feel a sharp pain going through my shoulder. When I look at it I see there is a needle with somekind of fluid in my right shoulder.
I feel my body weaken and falling on top of Lucas' body.
He's crying. I can't handle him crying. It breaks my heart.
"Lucas.... it's... okay..." I manage to say.
"No it's not... Kendra. I.... should've... protected... you.." He says.
I feel myself falling away. Black dots take over my vision. Someone picks me up and walks away.
"Finally we have you. It was about time." I hear a voice say. It think that the voice belongs to the person who's carrying me.
What is the voice talking about? More secrets, nice.
Not.😑
The last thing I think before I fall into unconsciousness is that a part of my life is a secret and I want to know it.
The best have failed.
The most beautiful have become ugly.
The peaceful forest has turned into a battlefield.
There is a group that can stop the endless battle.
They are called the Protectors.
Every Protector can only get his or her full power when he or she joins the group.
Till you join the Protectors you are a so called Wanderer.
You can't protect everyone, but you can protect the world from fading to black, becoming bad.
Find the Protectors, don't wait, because soon the battle will begin.
Fight my precious daughter.
Fight and you will win.
I know you can do this.
I and my team failed to safe the world.
Now it's the task of you and the other Protectors to safe the world.
