Chapter 4 - The Scary Man

Chapter 4 - The Scary Man

Death. The whole pack is gone. I see their bodies lay everywhere. My family, my friends, they're all dead. I walk across the field and then I see him. My wolf screams 'That's our mate! We finally found him!' When I am close to him he suddenly disappears. What...?! I look around me. All the bodies disappear. Why? This can't be real. Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder. Someones pulling me away from the battlefield. All of the sudden I feel a sharp pain. I look down to see a knife, sticking out of my chest. No! This can't be real. I scream, as hard as I can. I'm getting tired. I really can't stay strong anymore. And with that thought everything turns black.

I wake up, sitting on my bed. My hart's racing like I just ran a marathon. That was a fucking scary nightmare, but I'm glad that it wasn't real. I hear footsteps. The door is going open and I see Lucas standing in the doorstep. He has an terrified look on his face.

''Kendra, I heard you scream, are you allright?'' Did I scream? Oops.

''I-I think so. I just had a terrible nightmare. Nothing serious.''
He relaxes a bit. Nervously he gets his hand through his hair.

''Well then I think I go back to my room.'' He says ''If there is something, please come.''
''Thanks Lucas. Really.'' We say goodnight to each other and Lucas goes back to his room. I lay down and try to sleep. The nightmare comes back.

Again every one is dead. I don't want to see this. I can't handle it. Not again, please not again. I turn around and see a man standing but he has no face. It is missing. Like it is ripped of in a fight. I step back but bump into someone. What? Two persons this time? Oh crap. I don't like this. I don't like it a bit. Hands grab my arms and keep me from running away. The man without head walks to me.

''You will help the rogues. If you don't a beloved one will die. The rogues will win the war."

No no no! They won't win the war and I won't help them. I wake up and I'm afraid. Afraid of losing someone I love. I can't sleep anymore. What now? I'm so scared. I cry but after a little while I hear a noise outside. When I open the curtain I see the headless man. I scream and run out my room to Lucas' room. When I come there Lucas is already standing in the hallway.

''Kendra what happend? Are you allright?''
He says with a worried look on his face. I don't doubt and spring into his welcoming armes. While I'm crying he keeps stroking my head and says that everything will be allright. When I'm finally done crying I step back and look at Lucas. But just as I want to tell what happend I hear a scream behind me. It sounds like it has come straight out of hell. As I turn around I am shocked. No way. It's the headless man. I start to move back, but I don't come far because Lucas is still standing behind me. I have to tell him that I saw this man in my dreams and outside of my room. The man lifts his hand and right at that moment I hear Lucas scream behind me and fall at the floor. I turn around and see that he gets cuts and is bleeding everywhere. No, I can't let this happen! I turn back to the man. He makes a move with his hand and Lucas screams harder. I can't bear it anymore.

''Stop! Leave him alone! You want me right? Well then take ME and not my friends!'' The man smiles. ''I'm sorry but I can't accept that.'' I'm looking surprised. What?! He can't accept that? What kinda bullshit is that? I'm getting frustrated, but stay calm.

''Then I ask you to torture me and not him. You can accept that. I know that you can you filty son of a bitch.''

''Well, well, little girl shouldn't you watch your worlds? You will get what you ask for my dear. But don't complain that you can't handle it, allright?'' Just as Lucas stops with screaming I begin with it and sink to the floor, right next to him.

''Lucas...'' and right after I said that, I passed out.
