APOLLO WAS ACROSS THE table from me now, staring down at my crystal ball. The gold loops in his locs glistening from the sunlight almost blinding. His fingers pressed into the dark wooden table. His sun colored eyes hadn't moved and I was beginning to worry. A silence washed over us, one like I'd never felt before.

My beautiful twin, so identical to myself. Yet so incredibly different. As the silence grew stronger our connection had felt a bit weak. I couldn't really feel his emotions no matter how hard I seemed to try. Usually it was like a glowing aura surrounding him but now it seemed as if he was purposely shielding himself.

Oh no.

Had I said too much? Did he feel overwhelmed? Would he tell father of my disobedience? It was hard to tell from his unmoving form. My eyes ran across his face trying and failing to read what he could be thinking.

"What are you planning sister?" He finally asked. "What would happen if father found out about this," he gestured to Draven.

"That's the thing, Apollo. Father will never find out."

"How can you be so sure?" He leaned towards me brows furrowing. His aura began peeking through and I could see faint shades of red. "This is treason. Father could have both of our heads."

My heart sank.

He was beginning to look angry. I had to think of something to convince him.

"I've been hiding magic in Olympus for many years Apollo. I've been very careful who I talk to and who I let inside my room. No one knows about this now...except you. Will you keep my secret?" I asked. This was it. He had to protect this secret with his life. I hate that I've dragged him into this but I couldn't help but feel some source of security.

Even if it was minuscule.

"I'm not sure this is a good idea sister." His words weren't exactly a no but they still hurt since it was not what I wanted to hear.

I looked at the crystal ball where King Draven was talking with a man with a long braided ponytail. His features almost similar to the handsome king but not quite identical. They seemed to be having the most serious conversation with their faces having barely any emotion.

King Draven looked ravishing. His hair was down now falling a little below his shoulders. His stoic face was unmoving as his blazing red eyes stared at the man in front of him.

"How bizarre." Apollo whispered. "I've never seen eyes so scary. I'm really not sure about this..."

"I want him so badly."

I waved my hand watching the Mating book pages flip open to his name. The spot next to his was still empty and in that moment I knew there was no female for him on earth.

A white feather pen appeared in my hand, Apollos eyes widening. Moving closer to the book I stared down at his name, so bold and so powerful. I knew what I had to do.

"What are you doing, sister?" Apollo asked beginning to lean over the table in horror, his fingers pressing into the dark wood harder. Thunder crackled outside the open pillars as the wind began to blow with purpose. I could feel my skin grow damp as the anticipation was eating me alive. I knew what I had to do.

I couldn't look at Apollo and he wasn't fast enough to stop me.

Silence grew upon us both as he watched me write my name next to the man that would soon be my soulmate.

Artemis, Goddess of the Moon.

Soon to be Artemis Pierce.

Written so beautifully in a cursive font was my name. The letters glistened as a knife appeared in my hand. I slit my palm dripping the golden blood along our names, a metallic shimmer sealing my fate.
