DRAVEN

AFTER ATTENDING TO THE warriors
for twenty hours straight helping them to prepare, I was honestly a bit weary. I pushed through the entrance of my sleeping chambers only to be greeted by the vampire I detected as soon as I crossed onto my side of the castle.

Vivian was settled on her side when I entered my room. Her sheer black furry robe was spread out along the black covers as she wore barely anything beneath.

She smiled up at me greedily and I inwardly groaned. There was no way I could possibly sleep with her when I knew my mate was near. As flattered as I was, I would never lay a hand on her. I never have and I never will. Although it was very tempting in that moment seeing her like this.

"Vivian I—." I was suddenly cut off by that intoxicating smell. It wafted through my nose and straight through my soul making my heart begin to beat impossibly fast. It felt like I had been awakened by the Gods. It smelled different now, more intoxicating than ever.

As quickly as that feeling of euphoric ecstasy washed over me it was gone when I realized the intruder was here.

"Leave me." I growled at poor Vivian but I did not need her seeing what I was going to do next. No one knew of my dragon and the secrets that I kept even deeper. Only my brother and sister knew of the treachery of magic that my mother instilled in us. What kind of king would I be if they knew the truth.

I waited only a moment until I heard my chamber door slam shut. My eyes falling on where the scent was most electrifying.

"Reveal yourself." I said wanting them to do it on their own. "I won't ask again."

Impatient was something that I was not. My temper only grew as I waited patiently but the criminal did nothing. It only stood there and I could feel it's eyes boring deep into my soul. It was addicting and my fingers almost shook at how badly I wanted to see this person. This criminal.

"I can smell you and I can smell magic. You can't be that stupid. Using magic is a crime and you will be held accountable in front of the council." Something within me snapped and the words fell through my mouth almost instantly.

I couldn't wait anymore.

"Revela quae sub latente. Revela quae sub latente. Revela quae sub latente."

Reveal what lies beneath.

I watched as the last words of the spell broke through and pulled the intruder visible. What I was expecting was not what was revealed before me.

"Oh no." She whispered, her voice making me want to crash to my knees.

"Oh yes." My eyes were widened as the spell began to reveal a women, a gold like shimmer crawling over her beautiful brown skin like water running over her body. Her curly hair was as white as snow, and very long reaching to her curvaceous hips with golden circular cuffs woven into them. Her body was covered in white robes of fabric thrown over her impossible perfect body. Her eyes almost as white as her hair had a innocent twinkle as she looked up at me. She was so tiny but she smelled unbelievably breath taking.

"She's here." Drakel whispered with such softness I'd never witnessed from him. "Our mate is a Goddess from above. Look at the marks along her beautiful skin."

My eyes widened even more if that was even possible. The fates have truly made a mistake now haven't they.

"My, my, my. What have we here." I wanted to step closer but I didn't want to frighten her.
