Chapter 5

"You have to know how to defend yourself, your job will not just be to protect the king but to defend this land as well" he instructed

Then he looked over at Jenora and smiled

"Kneel before the princess"

All the soldiers knelt to the ground. Jenora felt a little embarrassed and a little out of place.

"May I speak with you sir?" she whispered to him

"Yes one moment, Captain you’re in charge for a little while. I will be back soon."

They both left the group of soldiers as the captain took over.

"Now what do wish to talk about your highness?"

"Do you know where this Draconus guy goes off to, I need his help"

"You can probably find him the old abandoned blacksmith shop near the furthest inn from here"

"Thanks"

After speaking with the guards she left to find this abandoned blacksmith shop. When she got there she could see that there was only half of the building still standing like the whole front was torn off. The place looked about the size of her uncle's cabin just slightly bigger. Then she saw him just laying there on the top room of the house as if he were moping around.

"Draconus"

He then looked at her and had a very confused but yet frustrated look on his face

"No strangers are welcome here! Now leave!"

"Calm down. I am here to ask you if you can help me find the man that killed my uncle."

"I have given up on going after him, considering what he did to me last time."

"Well can you at least help me find him and I will take care of him myself."

“No way I refuse to help you!”

“He killed my uncle. Please help me find him”

“Fine I will help you find him but once we get there your own.”

They both then started towards back to the castle so Jenora could get the rest of her stuff. As they entered the courtyard Jenora saw her grandfather come her direction.

"Jenora I have asked on of my men to help protect you while you go after him. By the way when are you planning to leave?"

"Right after the funeral"

"I will let him know at once."

The King called for one of his servants and asked them to relay the message the one who was going to protect Jenora. Then the servant gave a polite bow and left on his way.

"How did you know I was going after him?" Jenora asked

" The general told me that you were going to find Draconus, and so he figured you were going to go after the man that killed both your uncle and your parents"

" Oh alright that makes sense, wait that guy that escorted me and my uncle to you was a general"

"Yes."

"Alright"

"The funeral is in a couple of weeks because we still have to get the body back here"

"I can go get it."

"If you sure you want to."

Jenora nodded

her grandfather gave a heavy sigh and said "Alright. But you are going to need someone to help you, and some way to carry the body back. I will have one of servants to come and help you on your journey I will also have them lend you there wagon as well."
