"Time is up". The instructor yelled and we all put our pencils down.

As of now I was sitting in a square box called a class taking a test to get my GED. That's the least that I could do because I was to far behind to try to go back to school. I'm a smart kid no doubt but I had so much things going on in my personal life that school went lacking. Diana, Diana Herding, my teacher took me in as her own, and she now takes care of me. It's been about seven months since I ran away and haven't even turned to go back. Sometimes I hate myself because I left my little sister but the only way to get her out of that environment is to further my education and get a good job, I'm sure she will understand. It's all for the best.

One day I was in Lula's diner just sitting looking at nothing in particular and Ms.Diana came in and saw me. She asked me why haven't I been in school for months and she asked me how I was doing. I told her that I had to take care of my sister, practically raising her myself. I told her everything that had happened to me and she told me not to give up, to keep on going and I ended up making the decision to just get me GED. Diana was a little disappointed because she wanted me to go back to school and graduate but I didn't wanna do that. She also said that when I'm finished she could get me into a college if I wanted to go, and I said that I would love to.

"That shit was hard I know Ima be back here again" a guy named Darnell said getting up from the chair that was beside me.

"Darnell this is your third time here, aren't you tired of coming back to fail. I mean, I would be tired" Our instructor Mr.Warren said.

"You ain't have to say that in front everyone, trying to embarrass me?" He said packing up his things to leave.

You heard a little snickers here and there because of what Mr.Warren said. It actually wasn't funny to me, it was pretty sad that someone keeps failing every time, not only is he just failing to get his GED but he's also failing hisself. Your mind is a terrible thing to waste.

"I still get money my nigga, I'm still popping fuck what you talm bout" he said grabbing his things heading for the door.

"Actually it's TALKING not TALM get it right Darnell, get it right" Mr.Warren said chuckling as Darnell walked out the class giving him the middle finger.

"Y'all black people don't know how to act" Jody said shaking her head laughing with her friend Katie.

"Excuse me?" I turned around towards her.

"What?" She said snapping.

"Did you say what I think you just said?" I said.

"What? That y'all people don't know how to act? It's true so don't be mad at me. I'm so glad that Donald trump is in the office now. He definitely will get you people straight" she said laughing.

"Bitch don't nobody care that Donnie orange ass is in the office" Jessica spat.

"You sound totally ignorant right now, and before you say things like that out your mouth, you should know that Donnie don't like you either. He want to send you back, your not from here. So instead of us being against each other, we should come together. Stupid girl." I said shaking my head grabbing my things to leave.

What she said was completely ignorant, I mean don't get me wrong, people have their own opinion but sometimes they should just keep it to their self. Jody is Ethiopian but I guess cause he parents got a good job she forgot that she ain't from here. They always say don't forget where you come from, I guess the little winch forgot.

"That lil thot-thot got the wrong one" Jessica said running to catch up to me.

"I ain't even sweating that girl, reality ain't set in that she ain't from here". I said rolling my eyes laughing.
