Wedding planning and puppies

They had told the girls of their engagement as soon as they'd got home. Paige ran at Connie and Jacob and Ellie smiled as she picked her up and placed her on the work top,

Connie held out her hand and watched as Paige joined them and they squealed at the ring,

She wore the temporary ring he had bought her on a thin gold chain and Jacob kissed her hair as he put the kettle on.

"So does that mean we can call you auntie Connie now?" Jade asked and Jacob nodded.

"We need two girls who want to be bridesmaids..." Connie smiled, "I don't suppose you know of anyone?"

They laughed as the girls threw their arms around her,

"You'll look after her won't you?" Ellie asked, "I can't be doing with the heart break from these two if you hurt her,"

"I love her," he smiled, "of course I'll look after her,"

"Oh girls... You look so beautiful," Ellie smiled as the two girls stood happily in their bridesmaid dresses.

"You look lovely," Connie smiled as Jac nodded, "shall we get these ones?"

Ellie placed her hand on Connie's forearm, "my treat," Connie nodded.

"Only if you let me buy lunch,"

"Deal," Connie smiled,

"Aunty Connie," Jade smiled as Connie paid and waited for the dresses to be placed in a bag,

"Yes sweetheart?"

As she crouched down the young girl hugged her tightly and Connie smiled,

"Thank you,"

Connie ran her hand through her hair, "you're welcome princess."

Connie exhaled as she looked at herself in the wedding dress, she turned and smiled, knowing full well Jacob would love the low back,

Jac and Ellie smiled as the girls jumped up and down and clapped,

"You look amazing," they smiled,

"Do you think he'll like it?" She asked,

"Connie, he would love you in a bin bag... And yes... He will love it,"

She smiled as she saw him laying asleep on the sofa,

"Come on girls, let's have a hot chocolate while Connie wakes your uncle,"

She knelt beside him, and kissed his forehead gently, watching how his eyes flickered open and a gentle smile spread across his face,

"I love you," she smiled as he guided her gently to lay next to him as he cuddled up to her. She turned to face him and she smiled.

"I got my dress today," she told him, watching how his eyes lit up, "this all of a sudden seems very real."

"I bet you look incredible,"

"She does," Paige grinned as she came in holding two mugs of hot chocolate, "can we show you dresses..."

"Of course," Jacob nodded as him and Connie sat up, her leaning into his chest as he pressed his lips against her mouth gently,

"I was thinking," she smiled, watching as he raised his eyebrows, "I'd really like a puppy..."

"Puppies grow into dogs Con..."

"No way," she smiled and he ran his hand through her hair, "I think a puppy would keep me company whilst your working and I'm still only doing part time..."

"Would it keep you from wanting to go full time?"

She smiled, "I don't think I could manage that anyway, but yes."
