After the movie, Trista, Vox, and I walk to Dairy Queen. As we walk down the street, we giggle about various parts of the movie we found amusing. Trista and I quote a couple lines from the movie, which keeps us in fits of laughter, all the way to Dairy Queen.

"YOU COULD HAVE KILLED ME!" I shriek, quoting Bellatrix.

"Dobby never meant to kill anyone. Dobby only meant to maim, or... seriously injure!" Trista says, in a very good imitation of Dobby.

We continue to wander the streets of our town, even after we have our ice cream. It’s probably not the smartest thing to do, but we’re not the smartest people at times.

“What are you ladies doing out so late at night?” a quiet voice behind us says. All three of us whirl around to face a tall boy.

"Who the hell are YOU?!" Trista demands. I can’t even speak. All I can do is stare.

I only come up to the boys shoulder. He’s really skinny. His eyes are the deepest blue I’ve ever seen. His shaggy brown hair hangs down in his face. As I stand there, staring at him, I find my mind whirling through a million and one things I could do. The one that pops up the most is; kiss him. I almost allow myself to give in to temptation. Almost. Instead, I shake my head to clear it and tune in to the conversation.

“… this is ridiculous! You crazy stalker people have picked the WRONG girl to mess with! If I get my hands on you…” Trista is quickly advancing on the boy, who looks perfectly petrified. It’s not hard for me to see that he has nothing to do with the stalkers we saw before the movie.

"Trish, shut up!" I tell her. She shuts up, but continues to glare. I turn to the boy. "What’s your name, who are you, and what are you doing here?" I ask him in a more gentle tone.

"My name is Shane, I’m obviously a boy, and I was at the Harry Potter movie." he answers simply.

I am suddenly hit with a wave of cold air that is rolling off the boy. He reeks of vampyre blood. Trista and Vox must have smelled it too because Trista gasps and I hear Vox collapse on the park bench. I hiss softly.

"You’re a vampyre." I state the obvious. Shane's blue eyes flash red.

"I AM NOT!" he yells at me. Somehow, in his fiery anger, I am even more attracted to him.

Trista and Vox go home faster than the speed of light. I am a little slower. By three in the morning, I am still with Shane. We are slowly walking through the park. Conversation and laughter comes easily. I can feel all of my heavy burdens being lifted. I stare into his eyes, wondering again what it would be like to kiss him. Just once.

"What?" he asks me. I blush deep red. I can’t lie to him, though I don’t know why. Lying has always been easy for me, so why not now?

"I was just thinking... about what it would be like to... kiss you..." I mumble, blushing furiously. Shane eyes me warily. I watch him slowly come to a conclusion and I blush even more when I realize what he is going to do.

Shane’s gaze locks on mine and he turns to face me. He lifts my chin with one finger, forcing me to look at him.

"Close your eyes." he whispers in my ear and I close my eyes. I can feel his warm breath on my face and I can hear his heart racing. It seems like the whole world stops moving when his lips meet mine.
