Damon's POV
I stared out the window of the sheriff's office an apple spinning on my index finger distracting me from my surroundings. Day's had gone by and things seemed to go back to normal the town felt quiet, too; quiet for my liking. Even the animals seemed to be in hiding as if they sensed a hurricane or earthquake coming.
I hadn't heard from Isabella or her family, I'd been on high alert these past few days expecting them to come attack but they never did. Not even Katherine came out of the shadows it was like they'd disappeared.
Not to mention the Mikaelson's who had also kept a low profile. I'd seen Klaus around once when me and Stefan were headed to the grill but not even once did he approach us or even look our way for that matter.
I knew Isabella had something to do with that but the fact that Klaus didn't even acknowledge us made me nervous, Something wasn't right.
"Damon, good your still here. I'd like to introduce you to sheriff Swan." Liz said as she walked in Charlie trailing slowly behind her.
He walked into the room his gaze zeroing in on me. I could tell by the way his eyes hardened he wasn't pleased to see me.
I smirked at him coming to a stand, "Pleasure to meet you Sheriff." I said extending my hand toward him, He grunted ignoring my outstretched hand. I could tell he wasn't happy to see me, the tension in the room growing as we stared each other down.
"We should get down to business Liz." Charlie said breaking the silence as he pulled a map from his coat and placed it on the desk. "I've circled all the places where the attacks have been reported."
Attacks? What was he talking about? I leaned closer getting a better look, huge red circles covered the map a number beside each one. My eyes traced the whole map landing on the first attack, someplace called Forks. Then it headed down south the circles getting bigger the further down it went.
Hmm... how strange it seemed to be heading toward us. "What type of attacks are we talking about?" I ask getting a glare from Charlie as he straightened up to look at me.
"That's the thing we're not sure it looks to be like some sacrificial type of killings, at first it was one or two bodies that were being found but now...," Liz swallowed her gaze worried as she continued, "The numbers keep growing the latest was fifteen."
How strange if it was a sacrifice that the killer was doing each time then it must be a witch. They must be trying to accumulate a large amount of energy if the killings kept getting worse, I would have to ask Bonnie about it.
Sheriff Forbes had this weird look on her face as she looked up at me, I'd never seen her wear such a nervous expression before, "What are you not telling me?" I ask my voice firm and demanding.
"The bodies..." She murmurs quietly, "There not human Damon."
"What! This is just great now we have to deal with Buffy the vampire slayer. This just gets better and better." I spat coming to a stand by the door. "Another vampire hunter added to the party invitations, the list just keeps growing." A dark laugh escapes my mouth, oh the irony of it all.
"We're going to have to be on high alert, if I'm correct their next attack might be here in Virginia. It's seems they've made a pattern and are headed this way." I nodded agreeing with Sheriff Forbes. Whoever this killer was, I would find them and tear them apart.
Bella
"Mommy!" Claudia mumbled as she tugged on my hand trying to pull me out of bed. "I have to go pee." I groaned I really didn't want to get up, I had been feeling so drained lately I felt something had shifted in me. I hadn't felt the same since that day they had brought me home from the Salvatore boarding house.
