"I... I... I don't know" she shuddered in fear, her eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she wracked her brain. She truly looked uncertain, "I just know who you are but I don't know how." She continued. I stared at her dumbfounded.
"OK we'll figure it out later, right now we have to find a way out of here." I say pulling on the chains once again. I use all my strength but its no use.
"Ugh!" I screamed out in frustration. I should be able to break through this chain like butter, how could something so fragile compared to me hold me down.
"I told you there's no way out of here once your taken there's no escape." She says.
"There has to be a way we can't give up." I say panicked, what if I never see my family again. I couldn't loose them, I couldn't loose Claudia she wouldn't be able to survive without me. "We can't give up! Do you hear me we have to keep trying!" I yell out.
"I'm sorry." She says quietly, "If there was a way out I think I would have found it by now, I've been here for years I've tried everything there's no escape." My heart felt tight with sadness with that revelation, she'd been here a long time.
"I'll get you out... I give you my word." I promised her, there was something about this woman besides the fact that she looked like my mother that made me want to care for her.
She reminded me of myself when Edward had left me in the woods, how broken I had been. The difference being I had someone there to pick of the pieces. She didn't.
"Thank you for your kindness but don't promise me something we both know you can't keep."
"I... someone's coming, and by the way I never break my promises." I said quickly focusing my attention on the footsteps approaching.
Loud steps could be heard coming our way. I tried being as silent as I could but my uneven breathing gave me away showing how scared I really was.
The door rattled as it was being unlocked, the knob started to turn slowly as the door was gently pushed open revealing a dark figure.
They were dressed in a long black cape, almost like the angel of death there face covered by the shadow of the hood they wore.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"I am death." They say walking into the room their tall statue towering over us.
"Who are you?" I ask again my voice firm.
"As I told you before I am death." He said his voice was soft as he spoke. At this point I was sick of hearing that.
"For Fuck Sake Who Are You!" I yell out. I was tired of the games. I close my eyes exasperated. If this is some kind of sick joke it's not funny.
I heard a swooping noise feeling a cool breeze by my face then felt his presence in front of me.
Cold fingers caressed my face, "I can assure you this is no joke, your here for a reason but don't worry kitten you'll be going back in a few hours."
Not even my mind is safe here not that it surprised me. Anything is possible when your a vampire.
"What do you mean go back?" I ask as I look over at the fragile woman curled up in a ball. I couldn't leave her.
"You'll be sent back to your home with your family isn't that what you want?" It sounded too easy, he wouldn't just let me go like that.
"But first we need to program you." Ahh and there it was.
