Chapter 5- All Too Well

I stare down at the clear coat on my nails.

It was true, Mr. Austin Wellington, British, brainiac, near-male-model was my boyfriend.

Why is Scarlett Demi Tait, raging psychopath dating this perfect piece of man?

"Austin can I talk to you?" I hiss, a little too loudly. Tony's head snaps up, I look at him and he gives me a reassuring smile.

"What's up baby girl?" Austin asks, suddenly his voice returns to how I remember it. Soft, subtle, and hormonal. Austin slips a hand around my waist.

Well that's your answer, despite being a perfect student, and brainiac, Austin Wellington was horny as hell. Now- I am not a slut, I've been dating Austin for four years, he was my distraction, part of the reason I moved to San Diego was him, I didn't want to make him angry, Austin was also a drunk. An angry one at that, I was hoping my move would give him a hint.

"Austin, I just thought you'd take my hint" I say, brushing his hand away from my waist.

He let out a hearty laugh, I let out a nervous smile. "You want to break up"

"It's not that I want to, I just don't feel that a boyfriend is what I need right now" I sigh.

"Scar, college isn't the only reason I headed here, I know you left and I figured now or never right?" He paused to get down on one knee. "Scarlett Demi Tait, I love you more than anything. You're smart, beautiful, bold and always fun. I want to spend everyday with you, everyday in the past and the future. Scar, will you do me the absolute honour of marrying me?"

I looked at Austin, then to Tony, Jaime, Mike and Vic. They look back at me blankly, I begin to panic, but remain calm; I direct my attention back to the boy on his knees, begging for my hand in marriage.

"Austin, college, school, hell I don't even know what I'm doing tomorrow. I can't plan years of my future right now. I'm sorry" Austin stands up.

"Okay" he breathes.

"What's up with that all about?" Jaime asks, he stops and Tony bursts into a laughing fit.

"I really need to pay attention to what comes out of my mouth" Jaime says in between bursts of laughter. I sit down on the sidewalk, Tony puts an arm lightly around me.

"Hey are you okay Scar?" He asks quietly.

"I'm fine." I snap, brush his arm off of me and stand up.

"You don't seem fine" Tony offers

"Tony! For god's sake I am fine!"

"Okay okay"

"Woah guys" Jaime starts

"Both of you piss off!" I snap, I storm into Liz's house and throw myself onto my bed.

After what seems like hours of thinking I decide to stand up. My stomach churns, my head hurts and I fall on the ground.

"Liz" I croak, luckily Liz bursts through the door.

"Scarlett, hun, what's wrong?"

"I- ambulance" I mutter.

"Oh I think she's waking up!" I hear a familiar voice. When I open my eyes I see Aunt Liz standing over my bed.

"W-where am I?" I grumble.

"The hospital." A man answers, he has short brown hair, lightly tanned skin lightly dotted with freckles and streaked with wrinkles. "I'm doctor Acker" his voice is smooth and slightly seductive, but he's about 15 years older.

"What's wrong with me?" I ask softly.

"Actually, Mrs. Reele, would you mind if I talk to Miss Tait alone?" Doctor Acker asks. Liz leaves and Doctor Acker sits down.

"So looking at your charts, I saw something alarming, and since you're over the age of fifteen, I suppose that it's not my job to tell your aunt-"

"What is it doctor?" I ask, suddenly concerned.

"It's just, the reason you're here, is you were suffering from the side effects"

"Side effects of what?"

"Have you had any sexual intercourse in the past 5 months?"

"How is this any of your concern?" I snap.

"Well- you're pregnant"

"How long?" I snap.

"2 months, it should start showing in a little while."

"How long?"

"3 months is usually when people can start to tell, 4 if you're lucky" He says.

Pregnant, with Austin's baby.

"Is everything alright?" Liz asks as she drives me home.

"Yeah, he was just worried about my family stuff, since you aren't my mom" I lie.

"Oh, well you're okay?"

"Yeah" I smile.

"So you're excited about Clairemont tomorrow?" Liz asks

"Yeah, I'm not too sure about dress code, I did find a job"

"Where?"

"The diner down the street" I answer as she pulls into the driveway.

"I want you to go buy some school appropriate clothes" Liz says, dropping some cash into my hands.

"Liz this is way too much"

"Hun, I have the money, insurance from your uncle, and your parents are paying me child support"

I thank Liz for the money and I head for the bathroom to shower quickly, my only thought.

The baby.

DUN DUN DUN

So scar is pregnant with Austin's kid, AFTER she declined the proposal.
