Real- A Katniss and Peeta fanfic

Chapter ~7~

Peeta POV

I wake up and look down at Kat's curled up form laying on my chest. She is so cute when she's asleep. Of course she's cute all of the time. She has no idea how much I love her. I bend down and gently kiss her neck. She wakes up and immediately puts her mouth over mine. As she runs her hands through my hair I moan. She smiles as I sit up, still holding her in my arms.

We break apart when we hear the doorbell. We scurry to put our robes on and run downstairs. I open the door and Katniss's mom is standing there. "Mom!" Kat yells as she hugs her mother. They break apart and she says "hello honey! Hello Peeta! I am so happy for you two love birds!" I laugh and say "Hi Mrs. Everdeen." Than I am taken by surprise as she runs up and hugs me. "Thank you. Thank you for taking care of her." She whispers in my ear.

We go inside and I make breakfast as katniss and her mom catch up. I bring in a tray of waffles and bacon, and four glasses of orange juice. We call Haymitch to invite him but he must have already been on his way because soon we hear him knock on the door. He invites himself over for food a lot. I go let him in and we walk in together. When he sees Kat's mom a look of surprise passes over his face. He says "Well hello there Mrs. Everdeen! What a nice surprise." She says hello back and we dig in.

When we're done Kat and I go up to get dressed and we leave Haymitch and her mom to talk. I grab her waist and pick her up in my arms, carrying her upstairs. When we get to our bedroom she closes and locks the door before walking over to me. She looks at me flirtatiously, taking off her robe. She comes over to where I am standing and wraps a leg around me. She kisses my jaw once before our lips collide. We are on the bed rolling around and kissing madly. We finally break apart for air.

"We should probably get dressed now fiancé" I say. She smiles and goes over to her closet to find some clothes. I shower quickly then get ready. Kat and I go downstairs hands linked together. Mrs. Everdeen breaks out in a smile when she sees us, so totally in love. I smile and give Katniss a soft kiss on her cheek. Katniss and her mom want to discuss wedding stuff that is apparently a secret, because they shoo me out of the house. I get in one more kiss with Kat before I go into town. I have some secret wedding stuff of my own to do.

Katniss POV

I am so happy! My mom came home! Right now we're making plans for the wedding. Nothing important without Peeta, but there are a few things I want to ask my mom about for my wedding night. My mom is very helpful and tries her best not to make anything too awkward, even with my very awkward questions. She clears up the doubts I have in my mind. I then ask her a very important question that has been bugging me for awhile.

"Mom just one more thing. Well I mean I love Peeta, so so much! But I'm not ready to have children. I am too scared still. I think that eventually we will but I just don't want to yet. Is there a way I can prevent myself from getting pregnant?" My mom puts her hand over mine on the table and says "of course my darling. I'm glad that you're waiting. Both of you are still very young. I am sure that if you do decide to have children you will be amazing parents though. I can get you a pill to take make sure you won't get pregnant until you are sure that you are ready. I'm so glad you asked me!" A huge wave of relief flows through me as I embrace my mother with a tight hug.

When I look over at her she has a tear rolling down her cheek and a smile on her face. "What's wrong mom?" I ask. She replies with "Oh nothing's wrong dear. No! Everything is just perfect. It's just you and Peeta remind me so much of your father and me." I wrap my arms around her and we cry together for a couple minutes.

Soon Peeta comes home. He immediately gives me a big kiss when he walks in. It's about four in the afternoon. My mom decided to stay in our old house. I told her it would be fine if she wanted to stay here. She wanted to be there though. She is apparently staying awhile because I helped her carry two huge suitcases over there. Peeta and I decide to go on a walk to the meadow.
