Chapter 7

Boo! 👻

- 3rd Person -

"...maru! Shikamaru, it's time to wake up!" A soft voice exclaims as the Nara groans in response, ready to push away the person calling his name.

Fortunately, the rest of the night is uneventful. The sun rises and awakens the forest's creatures, and the morning light shines through the leaves while the redhead continues to wake up the sleeping Shikamaru as her clones pack up the sleeping gears along with necessities.

"I-I swear if we end up late, I'm snitching o-on you to Tsunade-san..." Mizuki grumbles as she tries to shake the young adult awake from his slumber, slightly annoyed that it's too bright for a morning.

Mizuki usually loves bright mornings, but have you experienced those types of days where the sun is waaay too bright that you can't even look at the sky without going blind... literally can't see anything. Sometimes she wishes that she could just adjust the brightness on a phone or something...what's a phone anyway--

Shikamaru groans, finally waking up and shielding his eyes from the sudden brightness of the sun. The first thing he notices is that the camp is all cleaned up, including his things as well. It was just him, his sleeping bag, and Mizuki. He takes a glance at his sister figure and sees bags under her eyes, indicating that she didn't sleep well last night which made him slightly worried, considering that he made sure that she was asleep the entire night... unless that was a shadow clone...?

"W-we have to get going, we don't wanna miss the boat. Unless y-you want to make Kogaine-san wait for another day- you're aware that there's only one trip a day to the Ice Island right?" Mizuki asks nonchalantly while she shoos Shikamaru away from his bed so that she can pack his things up as well.

"Yes ma'am," Shikamaru says with a small smile while doing a salute as he stands up, doing a little stretch to start the day. Making sure that Mizuki won't be carrying anything, he takes her backpack along with his, securing her bag on the front.

In a comfortable silence, both the Nara and the Uzumaki continue to make their way down the familiar path towards the port to the Island.

- Shikamaru -

"Nara? Uzumaki?" A grungy voice calls out as both Mizuki and I arrive at the port, noticing how it went through a major upgrade. It looked like an actual port now, there were fishermen with their beloved boats and captains trying to negotiate with potential passengers.

A tall buff bearded man approaches us with a list, flipping through the pages, a list of the passengers for the day.

"You idiots plan to set sail today or tomorrow? I have a full ship already and you're the last two we're waiting for" He grumbles with an annoyed frown, glaring at the both of us before walking towards the ship. It wasn't a big ship, but it was good for at least 20-30 people.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes before I reached my hand out to Mizuki indicating to hold onto it in so we can board the boat together, I couldn't help but hear Mizuki mumble in annoyance, feeling her glare at the tall captain making me smile a bit.

"Come on, we wouldn't want the people to wait" I calmy said with a soft smile as I pull her up from the dock, hearing a little huff in response.

As time passes by, I continue to sneak glances on Mizuki while we sit outside the boat. It's a really nice Morning right now but I can't help but be bothered at Mizuki's anxious leg...

I MEAN IT'S TOTALLY NORMAL TO BE ANXIOUS AFTER FINDING IUT THAT WE'RE GONNA ESCORT THE PERSON WHO LITERALLY PUNCHED AND KICKED MY BABY YEARS AGO.... Maybe I'm overreacting- NO THAT WAS LITERALLY CHILD ABUSE...

I aggressively thought while furrowing my eyebrows, feeling an irk mark appear on my forehead before taking a deep breath and sigh heavily.

"You nervous?" I asked out of blue while putting my hand on top oh her impatient twitch leg.

"Y-yeah..." She mumbled quietly while fidgeting her fingers.

"If ever he does something, I'm throwing him off board okay?" I reassured with a chuckle.

"No hesitations" I followed up with a smile before patting her head.

-3rd Person-

As the two awaits for the arrival like how the fellow readers of this fanfiction awaits for another update from the Author after YEARS, Mizuki couldn't help but stare at the bassing waves of water.

Thinking deeply, as if she expects that something is going to happen soon...

Or something happened already...

WAIT! PLEASE DONT KILL ME💀

I know I disappeared for quite.... A long time 😭 I got busy, like VERY BUSY🥹

And honestly I had a major writers block, CUZ I KNOW WHAT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN BUT I cant find a way to write it without making it sound like it's rushed 💀

But anyways-

I'll try to be a bit more proactive when writing the chapters when I'm freee
