The night is eerily quiet within the safe-house, the kind of silence that makes every creak and whisper of the wind feel like a harbinger of impending doom. Miyu lay in a small bed, staring up at the ceiling, her thoughts racing as she replays the events of the day in her mind. The weight of the cursed energy, the suffocating fear, and the sheer intensity of Gojo's power are all still fresh in her memory.
Beside her, Gojo sits in a chair, his eyes half-closed as he maintains a meditative state. His breathing is steady, his body relaxed, but Miyu knows better. She could feel the tension radiating from him, the way his cursed energy hummed just beneath the surface, ready to spring into action at the slightest provocation.
"Gojo," Miyu whispers, breaking the silence. "You should rest."
Gojo's eyes flutters open, and he turns to look at her. His expression is calm, but there is an unmistakable undercurrent of worry in his gaze. "I can't," he replied softly. "Not while they're still out there. I need to be ready."
Miyu sits up, the blanket pooling around her waist as she reached out to touch his hand. "You're exhausted. You've done so much already...You need to take care of yourself too."
Gojo give her a small, weary smile, but it doesn't reach his eyes. "I'm fine, Miyu. Really. But you should rest. You need your strength."
She hesitate, wanting to argue, but she could see the determination in his eyes. Gojo is a man who carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and he isn't about to let his guard down — not when her life is on the line.
Sighing, Miyu nods and lay back down, though sleep feels impossible. The fear and uncertainty gnaws at her, keeping her mind alert despite her body's exhaustion. She knows Gojo is right — the cursed spirits are still out there, waiting for their chance to strike again. And whoever is controlling them isn't going to give up easily.
"Do you think they'll find us here?" Miyu asked quietly, her voice trembling slightly with the question.
Gojo is silent for a moment, his eyes distant as he considers their situation. "I don't know," he admits, his voice tinged with frustration. "I've done everything I can to hide us, but they're relentless. Whoever is behind this knows how I operate — they know how to get under my skin."
Miyu frowns, her heart sinking at the thought. "But why? Why go to such lengths just to get to you?"
Gojo's expression darkens, a shadow passing his features. "Because they think they've found my weakness," he said quietly. "And in a way, they are right."
Miyu's breath caught in her throat. "Your weakness?"
Gojo meet her gaze, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions — guilt, regret, and something deeper, something that makes Miyu's heart ache. "You, Miyu," he said softly. "You're my weakness."
The words hang in the air between them, heavy with unspoken truths. Miyu feels tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, but she blinks them back, refusing to let herself cry. She has always known being with Gojo would come with risks, but hearing him say it aloud, hearing the pain in his voice, making it all more real.
"But I don't regret it," Gojo adds quickly, his tone firm. "Not for a second. I'd rather have you in my life, even with all the danger, than to live without you."
