Morning comes with a heavy sense of foreboding. Gojo and Miyu are up early, the weight of their unspoken fears pressing down on them as they go through the motions of their daily routines. Every movement felt charged, every word tinged with an awareness of the darkness looming just out of sight.
As Miyu prepares breakfast, Gojo sits at the kitchen table, his mind elsewhere. He is usually quick with a joke or a playful remark, but today, his silence speaks volumes. Miyu glanced over at him, concern etched on her face, but she doesn't push him to talk. She understands that he is processing something far beyond the ordinary, something that requires all his focus.
When she finally set the plates down and joins him at the table, Gojo snapped out of his reverie, offering her a small, apologetic smile. "Sorry, lost in thought."
"It's okay," Miyu said softly, reaching across the table to take his hand. "You've got a lot on your mind."
He squeezed her hand gently, the warmth of her touch surrounding him. "Yeah," he admits, "but I shouldn't let it ruin breakfast."
They eat in companionable silence for a while, the clinking of utensils the only sound in the room. But even in this moment of normalcy, the tension between them is palpable. Gojo couldn't shake the feeling that every minute they spend together is a countdown to something terrible.
After breakfast, Gojo stood by the window, looking out at the city beyond. His mind is racing, trying to piece together the puzzle of the looming threat. His instincts have never failed him before, and they are screaming at him that something is wrong, that they are running out of time.
Miyu joins him by the window, her presence a calming balm to his troubled thoughts. "You're still worried," she said, more of a statement than a question.
Gojo sighs, running a hand through his hair. "I can't help it. There's something out there, something big, and I don't know what it is. I just know it's coming for us."
Miyu leans against him, her head resting on his shoulder. "We'll face it together," she reminds him, her voice steady. "Whatever it is, we'll find a way to get through it."
Gojo wraps an arm around her, pulling her close. "I know," he said softly, but the doubt in his voice is impossible to missed. "But I can't shake the feeling that this is different. That this time..."
I will lose you.
Miyu pulls back slightly, looking up at him with determination in her eyes. "Satoru, we've faced so much already. We've come this far. I refuse to believe that we can't handle whatever's coming."
Gojo looks down at her, his heart aching with the love and fear he feels for her. She is his strength, his light, but she is also the one thing in the world that makes him vulnerable. And that vulnerability is exactly what their enemies would try to exploit.
Before he could respond, Gojo's phone buzzed on the counter, breaking the moment. He reluctantly pulls away from Miyu to check the message. It is from Yaga, and the tone is urgent.
[From : Yaga]
We need to talk. Now.Gojo's jaw tightens as he read the message. He knows what this means— whatever that is coming, it is already here, or at least, it is close enough that Yaga feels the need to call him in immediately.
