"Open up" I turned to the knocking on my door. It was about time she got there. I opened the door to just about 20 people. I had called in a favor from a person I knew long ago. CIA Special Agent Lisa Avery...also known as my girlfriend back in high school.

"It's nice to see you" I smiled

"Save the small talk, are we here to get your nephew or not?" She scoffs then walks in

"I don't remember our talks ever being this short" I mumbled then closed the door.

"You just stay with agent Kulzacs while we go in and extract your nephew, simple enough?" She says simply then hands me an envelope.

"Yes ma'am" I went along with her whole attitude

"We move at 0800 tomorrow, don't be late"

I nodded as she got turned around and left. She's definitely changed since high school.

The Next Day...

I woke up at 7:00 sharp and went to the diner down the block for coffee. The diner was empty which was perfect, I had a lot on my mind.

The waitress brought me my coffee and disappeared behind the counter. I took a sip and tasted the bitterness, it's how I liked it.

I spent the entire year tracking that bastard and today is the day I will get Ryan back. As the time past, I grew more anxious for the arrival of Lisa. I had to be prepared for what ever happens, no matter what I find, I promised myself that the Lynch family will get Ryan back. He's a fighter just like his mother, he won't give up on life this easily...he can't.

My head turned at the sound of the door opening. Lisa entered alone and ordered coffee as well, then she took a seat across from me.

"Good Morning" I said taking a sip

"It will be a better morning for you once we get that bastard and find your nephew" she says grabbing 3 small packs of sugar.

I owe her big time, this isn't a mission for her, it's also personal. After thorough investigation, it was revealed that Viktor Harris planned the jail break. Other inmates who got out were captured within a few days while he vanished without a trace. It was clear that he had everything laid out and the other escapees were only his cover. The incident nearly costed Lisa her job since it was her who put away most of the escapees, excluding Viktor. After the first few months and she had no luck, her superiors took her off the case and into desk work. She's been dying to redeem herself...and well I'm interested to see how she's gonna handle Viktor.

"0750, time to get on the road" she says finishing her coffee. I stared at her for a minute then at the colder coffee in my hand, have I really been thinking for this long?

Ryan's P.O.V
No light, no food, no water...no Mama. How long have I been here? Does Mama not want me anymore?

Stormie's P.O.V
"Alright! Chop chop! First show of the world tour and everyone's still moping around?" Mark yelled. I went to the kitchen to grab some last minute things. My eyes glided across the picture of Ross' last birthday. It was taped to the small bulletin board on one of the cabinets. He stood in between everyones smiling so brightly...with Ryan in his arms. I turned away and shook off the thought, things are finally looking up, I can't afford to bring everyone down again.

"Mom? Are you ready to go?" Rocky walked in and grabbed the last apple off the counter.

"Yeah" I said as my eyes unintentionally looked at the picture again.

"You know...I do that too" He says casually, "everyone stares at the picture from time to time, it kinda helps in different ways"

I didn't say anything for a long time, all you can hear is the sound of the tour bus engine and boys running up and down the stairs carrying their suitcases.

"Do you think he would be happier if I had never adopted him?" I said suddenly. Rocky made eye contact with me and shook his head.

"I don't know mom, we won't ever know" he answers

"But...do you think if someone else adopted him, he would be safe and happy?" I finally asked a question that's been on my mind for ages. Rocky got up and pulled me into a hug, he's a head taller than me but his hugs are actually quite relaxing.

"Stop worrying about that mom, I'm absolutely certain that we all made him happy"

"ROCKY! A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!" Ryland yells from the garage.

"Oh crap, totally forgot Ryland got his shirt caught on the door" Rocky says quickly then ran off.

I sighed then took a seat on the couch, my hand felt something familiar. Behind the cushion was Ryan's fluffy blanket, it's like the one all my babies have but newer and a different color. I took a shaky breath and felt the soft fabric. Everything I've been pushing away suddenly rushed back.

"No...no I can't do this" I put the blanket back down and went to join the kids, I am not going there again.

Hey buddy,
It's Uncle Ell's birthday today, we went out to Dave & Busters. Rydel won the jackpot and got like 3000 tickets and ended up trading it in for a giant pink stuffed bear. Ross and Ryland ate so much, I pretty sure the van tipped to one side when they got on....

My nightmares haven't stopped...every time it happens, it's always the same. I can see you standing there but you looked different. Maybe it's all the zombie games Ryland and Ross are playing but I see you like that...you would say "you said you would protect me" and before I can explain, you just disappear like it's nothing. The image haunts me...it's been 4 months since you were taken. I'm sorry I didn't live up to my promise, please forgive me. I guess this is karma..I lied to you, now I'm being punished and I deserve every moment of it.
