Camila POV
I had spent my entire free period looking for Lauren, all of the students who would be performing on Saturday were given them throughout the week to put final touches on anything they needed too. The girls and I had used Monday to practice their duets and my solo and Tuesday we practiced our group song, but we were all slowly being coming exhausted between rehearsals and studying for our regular classes and Ally and I had spent every free minute that had been spared over the last few days helping Lauren learn the Spanish parts of our song and I had to admit she was really good, but now it was Wednesday and we were all feeling the effects of having no time to relax, so as a group we decided to give ourselves a day off. Personally, I am not a hue fan of Wednesdays. It's the only day of the week that I don't see Lauren until our Music and Composing class at the end of the day, but today I hated Wednesday even more, because for the first time in what seemed like forever I woke up and Lauren wasn't in our room. I got ready for the day alone, it was unusually cold in LA so I threw on a pair of jeans and a baggy sweater, taking my time to do my hair and makeup while I waited for Lauren, but she never came back. I had sent her a couple texts when I had woken up, but I didn't get a reply.
I wasn't worried, not exactly. Lauren was notorious for not checking her phone and most of the time she had it on silent, but I was concerned because this was the first time she hadn't come back to see me before we had to go to class and I went through my first and second period without her and now on our free period, she was no where to be found.
"Has anyone seen Lauren?" I asked the girls as I flopped down on the grass as the free period came to a close and lunch began, "I haven't seen her since we went to bed last night, I don't know where she is and I can't find her anywhere." I was pouting now, with arms crossed over my chest and my lip out and I blinked dramatically at the girls who just laughed at me, Normani and Ally shook their heads and I looked to Dinah who was nodding.
"I saw her across the courtyard when Mani and me were coming to meet Ally about half way through the free period-"
"Mani and I," I corrected Dinah and she just shook her head and laughed.
"You and Lauren spend too much time together, you're starting to sound just like her," Dinah told me. "Anyway she was headed towards the dorm."
I pushed myself off the ground and grabbed my bag, "Thanks, see you in class."
I started to walk, which turned into a jog and before I knew it I was running, not wanting to miss Lauren my eyes were darting around in case she had already left and was headed back to the main building. I reached our dorms and stopped for a second, leaning against the brick with my hand on my chest. 'I really need to work on my cardio,' I thought to myself. I made my way into the building and up the stairs and I could hear music coming from behind the door, Lauren was singing and I knocked a couple times so I wouldn't scare her by just appearing and when I opened the door I stepped inside closing it behind me. Lauren was sitting on our beds, with her notebook, phone, and another book that looked like a Spanish translation dictionary.
She looked up at me and then back down at the items in front of her and then back up again and I leaned against the door looking at her curiously. There was a thick silence around us and there was a look in her eyes I hadn't seen before, but she reached out and pressed play on her phone and the recording of what I had said at the restaurant filled the room and I wasn't sure if she knew what it meant or if she was still trying to translate the meaning of my words. When the recording ended, she held my eyes with hers. "Say it again," she told me and I pushed myself off the door and took a step forward, "Quiero hacer el amor contigo, Lauren. He caído irremediablemente en el amor con usted."
