Ally POV
I checked the time on my phone, it was almost 10 and curfew was in an hour and a half and if we didn't catch the next bus home, we wouldn't make it.
Ally: We need to catch the next bus. Meet at the bumper cars in 15 minutes?
Normani: Got it
Camila: I don't wanna leave
Lauren: We'll be there
Camila: Boo
Dinah: What Walz said
I sighed, looking up at Oliver, the Juniors and Seniors had a different curfew than the Freshman and Sophomore classes, so we had to say our goodbyes for the night. I watched him leave rejoining his friends who were standing around the dunk tank trying to sink some poor guy who was shivering despite the warm LA air and I clutched the stuffed whale in my hands, looking down at it and smiling.
I made my way to the bumper cars, seeing that Normani and Dinah were already there laughing and leaning into one another. "Hey," I greeted them, making my way over. "Everything good?" I was a little nervous but they quickly smiled and reassured me that they weren't mad at the plan the other girls and I had made, in fact they thanked me. "We just wanted to see you happy," I told them, agreement coming from a voice behind me and startling us all.
"Happy is good. So it worked?" Lauren asked with a smirk on her face, Normani and Dinah nodding their heads and smiling. "Thank fuck, I'm sorry Mani, I love you and all but I am not spending another minute shoved into a bathroom stall with you, it's gross and it's uncomfortable." Lauren winked while she was talking and Normani just stuck out her tongue as Lauren pulled her in for a hug. "Do we have time to get snacks for the ride home?" Lauren asked when the two of them dislodged from one another.
I checked my phone and saw we still had a bit of time and at the mention of food I realized I was feeling a little snacky. "We got time," I said as the five of us approached the snack cart by the exit we were already headed towards. "I don't know about ya'll, but I'm thinking popcorn."
We stood outside the carnival, the five of us comparing our new stuffed animals and by vote, we all concluded that the giant stuffed dog Camila had won for Lauren was the cutest and the squishiest. I filled them in on my time with Oliver and our adventure on the bumper cars and Normani filled me in on the teacup ride incident with Lauren, causing a fit of giggles to flow through us. Normani and Dinah shared with us their plan to take things one step at a time and when they were finished Lauren and Camila showed us their henna tattoos. We fell into a comfortable conversation, Dinah told us her and Normani were going on a date Friday night, then Camila and Lauren laughed because they had also planned to go on a date that night and happily I admitted to them that Oliver had asked me to go on a date with him on Friday night as well.
"So Dinah, Ally, and I will get ready in our room," Camila said excitedly. "You and Lauren can get ready in your room," she said turning to Normani who began to protest right away.
"Excuse you, you two got Ally tonight, we get her Friday night," she argued and Lauren quickly pulled me towards her and wrapped her arms around me.
"Agreed, this one is all ours Friday night," Lauren chimed in, agreeing with Normani.
"I think we should let Ally decide," Dinah said gancing to me with a look on her face that clearly said, "Choose us."
I laughed, no one had ever fought over me before, it was as equally shocking as it was satisfying to know I was that wanted by all four girls, "As much as I love you girls," I said turning to Dinah and Camila, "These two are right, you guys got me tonight, so it's only fair they get me on Friday." Camila and Dinah pouted and I just laughed pulling them into a hug, Normani and Lauren high-fiving over their triumph before joining us. "I love you guys," I told them. "Seriously ya'll are the best people I know." There was a chorus of requited "I love you too's" from the girls, the five of us huddled in a group hug.
