Nico's POV

Why in the world did I agree to stay here?

I looked around and saw Will's room dark except with the window. The curtains were still up, showing the night sky and the shining moon. I was fine until he turned on the lights.

"Ugh.. It's bright."

"I only turned on one light. My only light."

I blinked a few times before getting used to it. "It's a really bright light then."

I saw Will roll his eyes and I looked to the side.

I shouldn't have stayed. I'm making things worse for this guy. Maybe I can leave when he falls asleep.

I examine his room. Some things changed. I remembered him having some toys that we used to play with. Those are gone. There are just posters of bands and some cheesy quotes. Suits perfectly for him in fact.

I turn to Will. "So...Nice room."

Will gives me that smile.

Why that smile?

"Thanks but it's a bit messy."

He starts fixing his bed that really didn't need to be fix. It's better than mine and I don't even have a bed.

Wait...

"Where am I suppose to fall asleep?" I ask him.

There was only one bed. I wasn't going to share nor sleep on the floor.

"Umm.. We can share if you want?"

I fall on the bed, stretching out my arms. "Or, you can sleep on the floor and I can sleep here."

It smelled like Will but I didn't mind. I mean-

"I prefer to sleep on a bed. We can share. Like old times." He smiles brightly.

That smile... Why is it always that smile?

"Fine." I sigh. "You take this part of the bed" I point to the left side "and I can have this part" pointing to the right. "It's even."

He frowns, shrugging a bit. "Alright."

"Glad we could agree."

"Aren't you going to change?" Will asks me.

"No." I answer.

"Then you're going to sleep on the floor. You didn't even go shower. I don't know where you've been." He pushes me off the bed.

I fall on the floor and grumble. "Are you serious?"

"Does it look like I'm joking di Angelo?" he tones.

"Fine..."

Man... how did I find this guy attractive again? He's annoying and stubborn.

"You know, I thought you would be scared of me. I'm a demon. My fangs, eyes, you know... I'm scary."

Will tilts his head a bit and laughs.

"What? I'm being serious."

"Nico, does it look like I'm shaking in fear?" he tries to stop laughing but I could tell he wanted to continue.

"No. I'm wondering why you aren't." I cross my arms.

"It's because I have nothing to fear."

"You do have something to fear. You have someone to fear. Me!"

Will just continues to shake his head, "You're funny."

"I'm not joking..."

"Whatever di Angelo. If you want me scared, you are going to have to do something scary, which you aren't."

That's it-

I jump on him and tackle him down. I put my hands on his throat and smirk, "Scared now?"

Will manages to shake his head and surprisingly, looked serious.

"I-I know you w-won't harm me."

"And how do you know that? I could easily kill you right now," I say.

"Then do it. Go ahead," he confirmed.

I blink but lean closer to his neck and whisper, "I could just bite you right now. I could kill you or make you one of us."

He didn't reply. I leaned closer. Nothing. I wait awhile until I hear him respond, "What's wrong Nico? Not going to do it?"

"No, I am... I'm just... enjoying you being scared," I mutter.

"Admit it Nico. You can't do it."

"I can and I will! Shut up!" I shout.

"Then do it!" he yells.

A flashback occurs and I notice that I was back to my middle school. I saw Will and me but younger. It was when Will made Octavian leave and helped me out. It was how we met. I look down, ashamed. Will helped me and in return, I left him.

What kind of best friend am I? Who was I?

My hands tremble and I open my mouth a bit but turn away with a sigh. I get off of Will and cover my eyes with my hands, "I can't..."

I close my eyes and hug my knees, looking at the ground. Will gets up and comes next to me. It was quiet for awhile until I decided to say "I'm sorry."

Will replies, "You shouldn't be sorry for anything."

"Yes, yes I should be," I sigh. "Will, I remember you. You still are a nice and sweet guy. I changed." I look at him, "I'm sorry."

Will smiles at me and I smile slightly back at him. I haven't smiled truly for awhile.

Will chuckles a little, "That sounded gay."

I blush and my mouth widens, "I was being nice, okay?"

"Nico di Angelo was being nice for once?" he gasps sarcastically.

"Shut up," I roll my eyes and laugh. I punch him on the shoulder gently and doesn't seem affected. Usually when I do this, people are pushed to a wall or far away from me, even if I do it gently. It felt nice to feel a bit normal.

Weird though. Must be that magic.

"Okay well, thanks for your apology."

"No problem. And you should thank me. You didn't die."

"What do you mean died?" he asks.

"Well," I explain. "When I gently punched you, you could have been damaged greatly. You weren't so lucky you."

"Wait, hold on, are you telling me you wanted me to be greatly damaged? After you apologized too? Are you serious?"

Why must I talk?

"I... well... I mean, I didn't mean to. I forgot and-" Will interrupts me.

"Forget it Nico," he walks over to his bed and grabs a blanket and a pillow.

"Wait, where are you going?" I question.

"Down to the living room. I'm going to sleep on the couch. It will solve both of our problems."

"Wait Will-" I reach out to him and try to place my hand on his shoulder but he uses his hand to move it away.

"Don't leave a mess. And if you are going to leave, the window is open. Go ahead and leave. I honestly don't care anymore."

Ow...

I back away from him and frown, "Will, I'm sor-"

"Don't apologize," he walks to the door, opening it and slamming it close. I look around and notice it getting darker. I sigh, laying on the floor and closed my eyes.
