As the wind continuously blows I get an idea.. I quickly pick up the ends of my dress and run down the hallways back to my room. "William! William!" I yell. I call him William because it seems to fit him better than 'Fernando' he quickly runs to me holding my shoulders and presses his head against mine..

"I thought something happened to you.." He was out of breath, and it showed. He must've ran up all the flights of stairs just to see if I were alright.

"Is Father or Mother home?" I was willing to test his gratitude and affections towards me. His eyes wandered my face, he was thinking of a lie. "Cat got your tongue?"

"They aren't home, but you mustn't go out, Melody. Not tonight!" He said backing away. I frowned and put a hand on his shoulder. I felt him tense up. I had to play the part, the part where I acted like I cared for him, and it made me feel a tiny bit of guilt.. A tiny. He turned towards me and held his hand to my shoulder..

"Please." I softened my face "please take me, William."

He took a deep breath and let go of my hand. "I can not. I'm sorry.." He turned around and began walking back to the men's army quarters.. I looked towards the ground and silently made my way back to my room..

As I entered my room I went straight to my closet.. I grabbed a simple green dress and put it on, it wasn't an expensive one, just a hand-me-down.. I took off my crown and put on a hooded cloak that hid my face well.. I looked at my window..

"Here goes nothing." I said walking towards it. I put on foot out on the ledge to steady myself, and then it was all too easy. Surely, they would make it a bit more complex so a little princess like me couldn't escape.. My feet soon touched the stone road of the city.. The smell of food filled the air and I followed it..

Keeping my head low I walked around. I stopped at little, simple shops, and finally made my way to the last building in town.. It was called "forever" I peaked my head inside and saw young boys sitting around a table.. They looked to be my age, but some a little younger. I leaned further in to see more when the door squeaked. I gasped..

"Who goes there?" One of the boys said jumping up from his table..

I tried to turn around when I felt a body embrace me.. "Going somewhere, love?" He tried to remove my cloak but I slapped his hand.

"Feisty are we?"

I simply backed away and tried to walk the other way when he appeared in front of me. I gasped and jumped back, big mistake. My cloak hood came off revealing myself.. He smiled and walked towards me..

"Well, if it isn't the kings daughter!" His voice scared me, everything about him scared me! The way he looked at me, and that thing he did with his eyebrow, which was kinda cute BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT!

"P-please don't tell him I'm out.." His smile only grew wider..

"Why doesn't he want you out?" He came closer.. He ran a finger across my collar bone. I stared watching his every move, I might have enjoyed it if William wasn't playing in the back of my mind. "I need to go. my-"

"Your what? Your stupid little fiancé is dying to see you?" He said interrupting me. If this where in the castle it would've been considered rude and he probably would've been removed from the scene, but it was like he didn't care.

"Who are you?" I asked.. He flicked his eyes back up to me.. "You'll find out soon, dear.."

I gave him a small smile and turned around. I began to walk away when I felt his presence again. "Is there something wrong?" I said turning towards him. "Yes, you see, I know you're a princess, but I'm new here and I don't know your name.. I'll exchange my name for yours."

I nodded in agreement.. "You first.. What is your name?"

"Peter, Peter Pan."

"Melody, Princess Melody White."

And with the blink of an eye, he was gone..
