The tears running down my cheek didn't phase me at all. My eyes blinked every so often, but I didn't look at him, I didn't speak to him, and I didn't even flinch when he touched me. He came around to my face.

"Look at me." He demanded. "Look at me!"

My eyes moved up to his. "I was such a foolish girl, Just like William said."

He smirked. "That you are. Your father should be here soon, so, I might as well use you against him."

I blinked and another tear rolled down my eye. "I won't help you. You may drag me around like a dog, but I will NEVER help you." I said looking straight into his eyes. "And that is a promise."

"I was beginning to like you, Mel." He sighed. "But I guess not.. Come along its time for bed."

He grabbed my wrist and yanked me down the streets. We would stop sometimes and he would scold little girls who had ribbons in their hair or anything colorful on. They would only nod and would cry when he turned away. I always looked back, even though he told me not to. He says looking back means remembering, and sometimes remembering could be a bad thing.

I was soon back to the castle. All these questions swirling in my head just made me want answers more. He let go of my wrist and I rubbed it. He left red little finger marks all the way around it. I kissed my wrist like my mother always used to do while he turned away.

"Why can't the girls wear ribbons?" I said walking beside him up the first set of stairs.

"Because it's a rule of mine." He scoffed.

"Don't they deserve to feel pretty?" He turned to me quickly and gave me a death glare.

"They aren't pretty! They're stupid little girls! They ARE stupid! They will never love anyone because this place knows NO love! Can't you understand it? I didn't save them from 'misery' I took them because their parents made a deal they could never repay!" By this point I was backed against the wall.

I turned my head and bit my lip to keep from crying. "They're not stupid.. They do lov-"

"Don't say it!" He said putting his hand over my mouth. I couldn't take it. I began to sob and yanked his hand away. I ran up to my room and locked the door behind me. I began to cry for my mom and dad.. "Please save me" I whispered.. I clenched my chest and walked to the bathroom and washed up.

The nightgown I picked out was white and had a pink lace trim on the sleeves. I cried one last time before laying my head down.. "Please mother, don't give up.. Look for me" and I was soon asleep.

Soon the curtains in my room opened and the bright light shown through. I wiped my eyes and sat up in the bed. A woman with a short white dress and green apron stared at me. She noticed and quickly looked away and began dusting the table beside her.

"Hello." I said "what's your name?"

She looked up, "Oh me? My name is Tinkerbell. I'm a servant here in the castle."

She looked older than most people here, and I wondered if that was why she is a servant. "Don't take this offensive, but you look old to be here with all of these kids."

She stopped dusting and set her duster down, but as she began to speak Peter walked in. "I've seen you've made a friend.. Now come on get dressed! We have a big day ahead of us!" I gasped a little, and simply nodded and got out of bed. Before Tinkerbell came to make the bed up he dismissed her. I frowned and walked to the closet, trying not to make eye contact..

"What will we be doing today?" I said looking through the closet. I put on a fake smile as he began to talk..

"I'm thinking about showing you some of the forest.. Wear the pants I put in there.." He said while making up my bed.
