He stared at me for eternity.. Shocked by what I said, he turned his back finally.. I waited patiently for a response, but it never came.. This tension was getting unbearable, my mother was dying by the minute.. My Birthday was only two months away..
"You wanted to know." He finally said.. "Why your mother isn't the fairest of them all.." He turned around and I nodded my head.. "She hates me, and hate has grown in her heart.. You love this place Melody, for heavens sake all you do is speak of love.." He paused.. "You are the savior for this place Melody.. I only made things worse, because I couldn't heal this place.."
"Why couldn't you just say that?" I said
"Because it made me look powerless.. How can I be king, when I can't even take care of my own land?" He said pointing to the trees..
I sighed.. "I'll heal the land in exchange for my mothers health.." He frowned..
"It's not enough, Mel.." He crossed his arms and took a deep breath.. "Someone who uses what I give them has to pay a pretty big price.." He continued..
"I-" I paused and frowned.. Before I knew it the words spilled out.. "I'll stay here for forever and ever.. The land will never die again.." I said stepping towards him..
He smiled and held his hand out.. "Deal." He shook my hand.. "So tell me why exactly is your mother dying.."
I began to tell him the story.. The queen, the necklace, and everything in between.. He was entranced with the way I told it.. I told it in the form of a story, rewording it to sound like some of my favorite bed time stories from childhood..
"And so the Mighty Queen will fall.." I finished.. By this point we had walked all the way to the castle and were at my door.. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.. "You're a good story teller.." I rolled my eyes.. "That's all you have to say?"
He grinned and licked his lips.. " I could say other things, but I guess I'm playing nice "
"Whatever, goodnight.." I said as my hand reached for the doorknob.. He quickly grabbed my hand..
"I'll send your father a message.." He smirked.. "I now have the savior, and a weapon to use against him.."
My eyes widened.. "W-what?" I stuttered.. "I thought we had a deal "
Of course I was stupid enough to believe him. He manipulated me. He stripped my secrets away, and now uses them against me. He is an evil, conniving little twit. I was stupid enough to fall in his trap.
He raised his hand.. "Come on, boys!" Soon about twenty teenagers surrounded the area around us.. They were all as raggedy as the little kids who walked the streets.. They reeked, and I let out a cough.. "Little princess can't stand a little smell?" Peter spoke up.. "Go on now, if you're the savior do some real healing!" I let a tear fall down my cheek.. He nodded his head and a boy came behind me.
He tied my hands behind my back and threw me on my knees.. "What is going on? Peter! What have you done?" He merely rolled his eyes and scoffed.. "What have I done?" He said throwing his hands out.. "Boys, why don't we inform her" her reached my face and stopped.. "About what she's done!"
I squinted my eyes.. "You told me how your mother will die.. Another check off my list! You betrayed your father, almost a check!" He paused and smiled "once he finds out that is.." He threw his head back and laughed.. "And the best part is, you vowed to stay here! You're not a savior! I did that to the tree! You really thought you were that spectacular?"
I turned my head away from him.. "Look at me!" He yelled.. "Look at your king" I looked towards him, and took a deep breath.. "Yes, Peter?" I said slowly.
