How we wish we could change the world

We wish we could grab them tight

With a grasp so loving it suffocates almost immediately

And suffocates in the most affective manner

How we wish we could change the world

We wish we could cradle them from the truth

As many a time we have done to ourselves

Only to learn of the same obstacles later in our way

How we wish we could change the world

To love with an emotion so deeply

The most positively sunken, darkest, and dreariest oceans

Could not begin to compare in shade of color

How we wish we could change the world

Take them closely against our beating throbbing chest

And keep them there forever

Covering their eyes with an ignorant and dull hand

That speaks of petty and pretentious wisdom

How we wish we could change the world

Because we know there will come a time

In the near future when someone changes it

But we are impatient organisms

Cursed with small minds and few ways

To change our entire world all alone

How we wish we could change the world

To the things we perceive as right

Away from a wrongful hand

That grips all in it's path

That will one day fall into a dark dastardly ash

Of a sorrowful past

How we wish we could change the world

Which will leave us with nothing

But a big bright and beautiful new to explore.
