Task 3:Authors Games:Whisper

"All tributes please enter your tubes now."

The robotic voice echoed.

Sue stepped into the tube with a nervous expression on. The tube closes and starts its ascent, Sue takes a look at herself, she is wearing a thick jacket and inside is a gray thermal, and she is wearing black tight pants and brown hiking boots.

The outfit she had on seemed odd to her. As all the possibilities of might happen in the arena courses through her mind, suddenly she stops moving, she arrives at her destination.

Sue opens her eyes only to be met with the cold air against her bare skin. Confusion takes place in the emotion center of her brain. Sue tries to regain her balance before she falls off her pedestal. Sue takes a good look at her surroundings, everywhere there was decorated white carpets of snow, and encircling the tributes were trees with glistening white specks of snow on them. Back in District 8, there no trees around her when she grew up. All that she was surrounded was the run-downed city buildings.

The robotic voice came on again and it starts the countdown from 60. And once more she takes a good look at her foes, and as she skims through her competitors. She notices that there were 24 pedestals, but only 23 tributes present. That's weird.
Maybe the tribute got severely ill or something.

Turning her glance toward the middle of the tributes, but to her shock, there was no Cornucopia sitting there. Confusion washed over all the tributes. How are they suppose to fight each other?! From where Sue was staring, in a straight line, was her assigned partner. Rue had an expression mixed with determination and confusion. She knows Rue was ready to take on whatever may happen in this year's Hunger Games.

Sue is still debating on whether to ally with Rue or to just abandon that idea. She fumbles with her fingers; thinking of a plan on how would she defend herself.

The only way she can defend herself is by using her environment. PvE.

Her heart starts beating faster and her breathing hitches. In her mind she is confused, but her body is ready to fight.

Where is she suppose to go if there's no Cornucopia?!

1...... Okay, Sue just head into the forest and don't look back. At that moment she finally decides she will just run away from Rue.

Vroooommm! The gong's song echoes throughout the whole arena.

In a blink an eye, the blood-curdling screams start even before she steps off her pedestal. Every tribute headed in their own separate ways, some run away with their partners and others fight. Sue finally retraces her thoughts and leaps of her pedestal. Heading towards the forest behind her was her only goal at this moment. She glances to her right and on the floor lays the District 5 female in her own pool of blood. To her left, she sees the pair from 2 kill the pair from 7. The snow is now decorated in a crimson red color instead of its original beautiful white color. As she enters the forest, she is thrown back onto the cold, hard ground. The girl from 9, Zea Denning, starts strangling Sue. Zea's chestnut brown hair compliments her warm hazel eyes, which makes her even scarier up close, Sue struggles with her breathing and her vision starts to fade. With her free hand, she catches her hand in Zea's hair, and she jerks her arm back. Zea screams in pain and Sue takes her opportunity to kick her back. Zea gets sent back into a tree, and she is now groaning and holding onto her head in agony. In the background, screams can still be heard from the unfortunate tributes who are being killed.

While Zea is still distracted; Sue leaps at the screaming Zea, and she grabs her hair again with both hands and bangs her head onto the frozen tree several times. With all her might she lets out a war cry and puts full force into smashing Zea's head into the tree. Blood pours out from Zea's head and she is now in a pool of her own blood; it's not hard to tell that there is an evident dent on her head.

Sue stands up and takes a final glance back towards where the "Cornucopia" is, and the snow is now decorated with more bodies. Sue makes out the faces of the pair from 12 and........

Her brother. Her beloved brother lays there with a shocked expression on his face. The majority of the blood that he lays in comes from his head and a little bit more blood comes out from his nose.

Horrified with all the blood and gore; Sue runs into the forest with tears threatening to pour out from her eyes.

Sue keeps on running and running, which she has been doing repetitively, Sue can't stop running away from all the problems and fear she faces. She remembers when she saw her brother's shocked expression.
(FLASH BACK)
Horrified with the blood and gore. Sue runs into the forest. After a few more minutes of running; Sue falls to her knees, and the knee part of her tights are soaked with the liquid from the snow.
She brings her hands up to her eyes and starts bawling in them. She can't get over the act that, she lost the only person who loved dearly, her brother. She questions herself in her mind. Wasn't he strong enough to fight back? Wasn't he strong enough to fight for her? Wasn't he strong enough to at least try to survive for himself? Or was he just too mentally weak to do anything?

He volunteered for her, to protect her, to keep her company- but these damned games destroyed his plan. She knew that the games would try to break her. She knew if she let her guard down; she would fall deeper into despair. The Ultimate Despair. And this is the Ultimate Despair she's feeling.
(END OF FLASH BACK)

Sue wipes the tears from her eyes. Even without a mirror, she could tell her eyes were a bright red color. She felt the pang of guilt from killing Zea. In her case, it was for defense, but she still can't get the sight of the blood out of her mind. She can just feel Zea's angry spirit haunting her. Trying to scream at Sue for killing her. At this point, Sue doesn't know what to do. She isn't in an alliance with anyone, and she is alone now; no one is here for her.

Probably the careers are hunting together with their partners. Even the poorer districts were probably with their assigned partner. Sue is thinking about Rue. How is she doing right now? She could have stayed with Rue, but she let fear and confusion control the steering wheel. Her mind decided to abandon Rue. Now she's paying the price of her, idiotic, actions.

The sun is starting to set, so to pass the time, Sue thinks back to the "24 pedestals, but 23 tributes" problem. How could there be only 23 of us from the start? Sue try's to recall back to the faces of the tributes.

All she can remember were the careers and the faces of the people she saw die, but the rest was a blur. She try's to think harder, but all she gets in return is a brain fart. She did hear from President Alyssa that she has a mini twist for the tributes. This 1 less tribute may be the mini twist that the President and Gamemakers prepared for the tributes. But, What in the world did they do to this 24th tribute?  

After she went through all the possibilities in her mind, but only one was a logical answer stood out in her mind. Since we do have an evil President, maybe she killed the 24th tribute. The only thing she can't figure out is- Who did the President kill?

Night falls over the arena and it's so quiet that Sue can hear the snow hit the snowy ground she is sitting on. She is still cold even with the thick clothing she is dressed in. As the moon stays up in the night sky; the more Sue grows tired. She yawns and covers her mouth with her hands, and as her eyes start closing she hear the faint sound of the Anthem play.

Then her vision goes black.
