Kaylee's POV

Senior Year ~

About two weeks before my 18th birthday, Kate and I were video chatting about hanging out. "Girl, we should do something fun before your birthday, can't you come visit us any sooner." Kate said. I could tell she was already thinking about the three of us together after not meeting each other for almost a year. "Okay okay I know we've been planning this for a while now. By the way, how is it going with you and Tyler." I asked teasing, while taking a sip of my hot coco. It was an early Saturday morning. My hair was in a messy bun and I was dressed in comfortable clothes, which were a black hoodie and yoga pants. I could see that Kate was rolling her eyes through my laptop screen.

"Dude we aren't together, we just get along really well." Kate protested. I couldn't help but laugh. "How long has it been? You like him don't you? It seems wrong that you guys aren't a thing yet." I said honestly heartbroken, metaphorically. "You know it's just one-sided, plus how could I put my best friend through being the third wheel." Kate explained. "Kate, honey, I'm already the third wheel. Besides why not, you guys are cute together. He's still the captain of the basketball team, plus him having his own fan club is a challenge itself." I said, thinking back to when I first met both of them. My attention snapped back from thinking about the past when Kate said, "Kaylee you're coming next week got that, we promised. Come on it's our senior year! You deserve to have fun." "I will visit you, don't worry a promise is a promise." I reassured her. "I know. I'm just worried and excited to graduate from high school. I swear that place sucks the life out of you like the Underworld." Kate said. We both laughed at that fact. Then I heard Mom calling me to come downstairs. "Sorry gotta go, I'll text you and Tyler later. Bye!" I said, then closed my laptop. I went downstairs to go find my mom.

"What's up Mom?" I asked as I made my way to the kitchen. "You have to pack for next week since you're staying at Henry's apartment." "I'm almost done." I said while putting my empty cup of hot chocolate in the sink. "Good. Anyway can you pick up some things in town for me, here's the list." Mom said as she handed me the shopping list. "Okay, I'll be back." I told her as slipped my sneakers on.

I stopped by Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop after gathering some of the things on my mom's list. I walked inside, with the sound of the bell behind me signaling a customer. "Hey Kaylee, how can I help you?" Belle asked. "Got any books I haven't read or maybe cool nick nacks or tools?" I asked, as Gramps made his way out from the back room. "Here you go and this is for you." He said as he made his way back with the rest of things on the list and an elegant music box. "It's beautiful! Thank you." I tell him as I give both of them a hug. " This is from Belle and I. Happy early birthday my dear." "Can I open it Gramps?" I asked. "Of course." Gramps said. I always found it weird calling him Mr. Gold or Grandpa since he wasn't my real grandpa, but Henry's. That's why I called him Gramps. The music box was a shiny silver marble on the outside and a breathtaking navy blue on the inside with a mirror attached to the back of the top. There was a magnificently crafted pen on the inside. "This was supposed to be your graduation present but we thought it would be better to give it to you now." Belle said. "Go on and press on the aquamarine stone my dear." Gramps said. I did as he instructed and the pen turned into a wand. I was so excited that I couldn't help but smile. "Even when you are in a land without magic you will always have some in this wand, your wand to be exact. Oh and another thing, you can never lose it because it will always find its way back to you." Gramps said happily. "Oh my glob I can't believe this!" I said squealing.

A sad look reflected in Gramps' eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I know that the things I do now can't possible amend for what my evil half did to you before you were even born my child." Gramps said with sorrow. "Rumple." Belle said with concern as she held his hand. "Gramps. Stop. The past is the past. What matters is what you do now." I reassured him. "You're right my dear." He said. I said good-bye to them both and headed home. I walked into the house with my hands full. I set the things on the table and went into my room to finish packing. I ate dinner with mom and dad then decided to practice some potion mixing before heading to the shower then to bed.
